Turn "panel" shortcuts into "application" shortcuts?

There's three shortcuts I want to be able to use no matter what panel has focus.

  • ZoomInResize, to zoom in on whatever is in the composition panel (currently set to Ctrl+=)
  • ZoomOutResize, to zoom out from whatever is in the composition panel (Ctrl+-)
  • Fit up to 100% (Alt+/)

However it looks like they are all "panel" shortcuts, so if the Project panel or Effect Controls panel has focus, for example, they don't work. They are not being overridden by anything.

Is there anyway to make these shortcuts work no matter which panel has focus? My workaround right now is using the Switch Between Composition/Timeline Panels keyboard shortcut to move focus to the composition window, but doing this hundreds of times a day adds up.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Nope. It's inherent in how AE derives conextual information for many of its functions and the same key can have different functions in different panels or tools. It's a fundamental thing with the application design and AE's old architecture. They would have to completely change it and make context tracking optional like in some 3D apps.
