Twirl effects cuts off image

Hey guys! I made a logo for a Steam artwork page for a friend of mine and he wants a twirl effect. Now I have a problem and it's that the border of the image is too small. I have tried going into Photoshop and add a rectangle with no fill or border in the background of the logo so that the image border gets bigger, but it doesnt work and still shows the smaller border when importing into AE.

Apply the following effect above your Twirl effect in the Effects Controls stack. Adjust the pixels value as required.

Effects > Utilities > Grow Bounds.
