The new update is causing damage to my workflow:

5 seconds to delete a layer

lag moving layers

very slow moving an image in viewport

5 seconds showing contextual menú on layer

5 sec to duplicate a layer

 

This is the new better performance you annuncied? Please test better de apps until publishing.

 

HP z800 

96GB ram

Intel Xeon E5640 2,67Ghz (2cpu)

Windows 10 Pro

Quadro M5000

 

(I tried enabling and disabling hardware acceleration in prefs, same result)

What about if you reinstall Ae 2018? Allways is a posibility in Creative Cloud Desktop application when we have some issue with new version of applications.

what happens if you go to:
File > project settings > Video rendering and Effects

and set that to 'Mercury Software only' ?

Hi, is already in Mercury Software only.

I've noticed that it happens the first time I go into each precomp (duplicate, cut, contextual menu...) and apparently only in the PSD layers.

Unless you really enjoy being part of the Adobe Unpaid Beta Tester Program -- which is what you are right now -- just use the version you used before.

Don't have the earlier version anymore?  Well, you've just learned a hard lesson:  you never, EVER replace your current Adobe software version with a brand-new Adobe software version.  You keep two versions. 

Then you wait for someone else to go through the pain of finding all the bugs and workarounds.  By the time the next new version comes out, the current new version -- if kept properly updated -- should be okay.
