Adobe After Effects 2015.0.1 - ver. 13.5.1.48, so it's up to date.
Issue is as it follows:
While making anything in a composition -w hen I hit crtl+z (or choose undo from menu-edit) it does work - technically - but there is some preview problem. For example:
I make a solid square, then i move it to right, and again, and again. So we have 4 steps (create, move, move, move). So let's say I'm on the last step and the square is on the right. Then i hit undo. What I get is... the layer is still in the same position, but bounding box actually goes back to the step 3 (correct reaction!).
So while undoing, the visual material stays at it's place, and a bounding box moves as it should.
Please, help as soon as possible.
Adrian
The After Effects CC 2015 (13.6.1) bug-fix update is available. It fixes several bugs, including the one being discussed on this thread.

I just re-downloaded CC2014, at least that version is stable where I can get some work done.

I was able to revert back to 13.5, but now dynamic link isn't working in a project I started with Premiere 2015.1 (9.1.0). Perfect!

Same problem here. Hope you'll fix it soon. Having your preview screen update as you tweak your animation is quite valuable for an animator, just so you know.

I am having the exact same issue. Undo doesn't do anything. Stranger still if I turn off the layer it doesn't disappear. Purging memory/cache etc is no fix. Also tried deleting AE preferences this didn't help either. This update is causing serious work stoppage for me. Also it's not just in preview... this is showing up in final renders both from within AE and even when the are sent to Media Encoder...

Updating my mouse driver fixed this issue and at least another one for me. (Re: After Effects 13.6.0.165 not possible to zoom in top and side camera Views???)
I do agree that it's a long shot.

It needn't be a work stoppage. If you need to get back to work quickly, you can install 13.5 again or 13.2 (CC 2014) via the Creative Cloud app. CC 2014 can open files created in 13.5 or 13.6 without issue.
And, yes, I hope it gets fixed soon too!

Add me to the list of "Undo Un-Happiness."
Although, the "Run as Administrator" seems to help, but strange that it should as my account, the only account on the computer, IS the administrator account. I'm not holding my breath for this to be the solution, just reporting my experience.
Spoke to soon, doesn't seem to work. I've also Purged all media, no change.
Damn good thing I don't have a client sitting right next to me.

Does anyone know how to revert back to half point upgrades... all I can see is how to down-grade to CS6.. there doesn't seem to be an obvious option to go backwards?

::::::: UPDATE :::::::::
It's definitely a render/purge/refresh issue. Upon executing an undo command, the rendered media indicator (green bar) doesn't change, so it's still displaying the rendered media prior to the undo, thus not refreshing with the undo.
I've taken the time to delete the media database and clear out the cache, all in the preferences dialog box, so when this this acts up, I can force a media purge (Ctrl+Alt+ numpad \) and keep working. At least I can get through the day and get my client their spot today.

I just rolled back to 13.5.1 for now. It's really easy since there is a good chance that the preferences are still on your machine. I hated having to purge after every undo. I didn't realize how much undo was a part of my workflow 🙂

How to Find and Install Previous Version of Adobe Apps in CC 2015 | Adobe Customer Care Team
DOES NOT illustrate how to move back to a half point version.. also my "Creative Cloud" app doesn't even show AE as "Addtional Apps" to move back too?? Can someone please point out how to move back to a half point upgrade??? Adobe?

Hi KMS,
Yep, I too am reverting back to 13.5.1. This is the first time in my 25+ year career I've had to revert back. The final straw, for me, was I couldn't get a simple Alpha / Invert Alpha to display. I'm doing a simple rectangle object to mask out text before the text animates into position, standard and easy stuff, and I the object never could alpha out the text.
time to go back and get some work done.

*First uninstall AE 13.5.6 then install AE from below.
For those that want to roll back and not play with the Creative Cloud app, you can go here to download AE 13.5: Adobe CC 2015 Direct Download Links: Creative Cloud 2015 Release | ProDesignTools
You can update AE to 13.5.1 here: All Adobe CC 2015 Updates: The Direct Download Links for Windows | ProDesignTools
Just be sure to read all the directions to get the links to work. I was able to roll back in just a few minutes.

Hi guys, I'm almost certain this has to do with Windows' ownership properties. I had to take ownership of my entire Program Files/Adobe folder, and just to be on the safe side, I did the same with my temp directories (which I've set up custom on my D:), and my Users/Name/AppData/Roaming/Adobe folder. This isn't the first time issues like these have popped up because of ownership rules, and it's happened on many other programs besides Adobe programs. I keep a custom right-click context menu entry to Take Ownership of all files, which you can download here at Add "Take Ownership" to Explorer Right-Click Menu in Windows
NOTE: Once I did this....it was bye-bye to the problem listed in this topic. I don't have to run as Admin anymore because.....technically.....I'm the big cheese. Just right-click the master directory and click "Take Ownership" and it will give you full rights and privileges to that folder, plus ALL files and sub-folders within the directory.
If you suspect a program is misbehaving, try this trick. You'll notice that by default, you probably aren't allowed to even create a shortcut within folders in your Program Files directory, and that's because technically, you ain't the owner. This trick constantly solves LOADS of problems for me. Just to give an example......I couldn't license music software because it couldn't physically write the key to my Program Files/Music Program directory, so taking ownership fixed that. Hope this helps!!

Hi renzoo, use my method listed above to first install the right-click context menu entry. Once that's done, follow my instructions to take ownership of the necessary folders I've indicated. The main most one is your Program Files/Adobe folder. Just right-click it and choose "Take Ownership" of the entire folder. It'll take some time, but you'll see a command prompt window doing its thing. Once it's finished, the command prompt should automatically close, and then you'll have full privileges on that folder. It solved the Undo issue for me, and it'll solve MANY issues on other programs that are also acting up.

We're having the exact same issue. The viewport goes unresponsive. Please make an update available for this soon.
Generally speaking, why such a simple thing wasn't even tested before you release this update? Businesses and individuals get seriously affected by such bugs. Inform everybody that it's a risky business to update, I wouldn't do it if I knew!
Best regards,
Alex

Solution found :
Use the following registry fix :
I used the above and the Control+Z unresponsive issue is gone. Also, the compositions with 3D Raytrace On is working faster now. Make sure to backup your registery before you install this. (just in case)
Cheers,
A
