Unwanted stutter between 2 keyframes?

Explorer ,
Feb 24, 2021 Feb 24, 2021

Hi,

Can someone explain why this shape (see attached) is momentarily reversing direction between the 2nd and 3rd keyframes? It's probably something obvious, but I'm stumped!

If this helps…

It's a very simple animation with 4 keyframes, no expressions

Position Keyframe 1: 2059,415

Position Keyframe 2: 2903,415

Position Keyframe 3: 3037,415

Position Keyframe 4: 4414 ,415

Thanks

The issue occurs when you use Bezier keyframes so you need to eother make them linear (to remove handles completley) or, leave the handles on the curve side but remove them on the "in between" side. In other words, use a Bezier Keyframe as opposed to Contiuous Bezier or Auto Bezier

There's probably a bezier twist causing the motion. Select the first keyframe, right-click on it and choose Toggle Hold Keyframe. This prevents movement between the two identical KFs

Thanks for your reply, but that didn't work. Maybe there's a better way to do this. I wanted the shape to quickly move from off screen to the 2nd keyframe, then slowly glide (without hesitating) to the 3rd keyframe posiotion, then quickly fly off screen. When I put the toggle Hold it stops the motion.

BTW: Is it not possible to attach an aep file? When I tried a got this error..

"The attachment's glidetest.aep content type (application/octet-stream) does not match its file extension and has been removed."

In that case select both keyframes and right-click - choose Keyframe Interpolation - Under Spatial Keyframes select Linear
