Vegas effect jitternig/glitching

So I have a stroke animation animating with vegas with a 3D camera in the comp. Problem is as my camera starts to move, my strokes start to flicker/jitter. I am using Continous Rasterization on my layer and this is the result. Although If I turn OFF the Continous Rasterization the problem goes away but I lose my quality and thats not what I want. I want to animate my layers with vegas only and without losing quality. Any potential fix for this or any other workaround?

Comp settings:

-1920 x 1080
-24 fps
-32 bpc2023-05-24 22-44-29 (online-video-cutter.com).gif

This looks like a judder caused by the stroboscopic effect of the thin lines moving in an uneven multiple of the number of pixels per second. The softer lines caused by scale tend to hide the problem. It's just like trying to animate a title roll. If the text is small, you need to have it move an even number of pixels per frame.

This is the same stroboscopic effect that makes wagon wheels turn the wrong way and helicopter blades appear to turn slowly or change speeds. It even causes problems with horizontal camera movement or pans. In the Cinematographers handbook, there is a table of Critical Panning speeds that must be avoided when shooting at 24, 25, or 30 fps. It's based on the lens angle of view and panning speed. You can even run into the problem with video cameras, but it is mitigated by the fact that video cameras don't have global shutters, they record video from the top line of pixels down to the bottom.

The fix is to thicken the lines so they are at least 2 pixels thick and add motion blur to help antialias the edges. You may also have to make some minor tweaks to the speed of the move. Changing the comp frame rate to 60 will also help, but you must realize that YouTube may serve up your video at less than 100% scale and at a lower frame rate because they always throttle the playback based on the available bandwidth.

I hope this helps. Speed, alignment with the pixel grid, and frame rates are some of the technical issues that you have to consider with each design.

Here's a repost of an old article I wrote a long time ago. Everything still applies:

Thank you Rick for your reply. I tried to follow closly of both your answer in my reply and your article that you wrote about Avoiding Judder in Motion Graphics and tried my very best to fix this issue, But unfortunately the problem still presists. Below are the list of things I did but were of no fix:

- Changing between frames from 24 to 60fps
- Increasing the width of my Vegas Effect
- Enabling the motion blur and upping the shutter angle

- Making my 3D Camera start from an even number of pixel

- Changing between cameras from 35mm to 50mm

With higher number of frames the problem is still there but at now a different time interval.
Am I doing something wrong? Am I mising something? Would REALLY appreciate if you can guide me to completely get rid of this problem. In the meantime I will try going through your article again and again.
If it is of any further help I can also provide you my project file and you can assist me better.

It is hard to guide you without seeing the problem project. My first approach would be to add motion blur and increase the shutter angle in the comp.

You answered your own question: You cannot use continuous rasterization with this effect. It affects how the lengths of the segments is calculated. That's all there is to it. Nothing wrong. If you need better quality, simply create the artwork at a larger size and then scale it down after the effect has been applied.
