Is it possible to save AE's Typewriter Effect as a custom preset? I don't like how AE spaces out the keyframes for that effect. And as I will need to use it a lot in a documentary film, I was just wondering if it's not possible to save it as a custom preset.
I know that there are tons of effects that can be tweaked and saved as custom presets in AE, but I haven't been able to do that with the Typewriter Effect. Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong or missing? Thanks very much in advance

You can save anything you modify on any layer as a custom animation preset. You just have to select the major properties in the timeline and select Save Animation Preset from the Animation menu. It's a good idea to use the default directory for Custom Presets. Select the Effect name you want to use, any transform properties, and any text or shape animator properties instead of the specific values for effects or properties.
You can't overwrite the default animation presets without really fiddling with the file paths.

Hi Rick, thanks very much for your speedy reply and help. By "major properties", looking at this snapshot of my timeline, do you mean that I should select the "Range Selector" or "Animator" as the animation preset to save? Thank you in advance.
