Why does my opacity gradient disappear in premiere?

I'm sure this is simple and I'm being stupid but please help me as I cant' find the answer to this anwyhere online.

In after effects my compostion looks like this:

But in premiere it looks like this:

Where has the opacity gradient gone?? help me please

You are experincing some sort of Gamma issue, but without more detailed and precise info it's not possible to make sense of it. Could also be that old straight vs. premultiplied Alpha thing. Well, whatever, more info is definitely required.

I'm using a Gradient fill on a shape layer in After effects. The project is dynamically linked to my timeline in Premiere.

The gradient settings are as follows

Mylenium is right about a gamma issue - my guess is that's it's caused by a color management settings mis-match between your copies of Ae and Premiere.

Try unticking the 'composite in linear color' checkbox you see near the bottom of the image above.
