Hi all,
I imported my .exr files rendered in Maya into AE. However, this warning pops up for one of my frames: "After effects error: Error reading pixel data from image file "Unicode Path". Data decompression (zlib) failed. ( 0 :: 9997 )"
I tried opening the specific .exr file in Photoshop, and it opened normally, so it's not like the file itself is corrupt.
Please let me know if anyone has encountered and solved this problem! Thanks.

Would you have a try of the third-party plug-in?

It is for 3ds Max, not Maya. I guess you can find the similarity.

I am also having this problem with multi-channel .exr sequences in After Effects, suddenly. Began experiencing this after rendering with Maya 2020.3...AND updating to After Effects 17.1.something. I tried rolling back to 17.0 After Effects with no luck. Anyone?

Same here. Recently starting having this issue working in AE on a PC, using an EXR sequence.
Hopefully there is a solution for this.

Yikes! Can you post the EXR file?

Thanks for the files. About half of the EXR files in here are corrupted. For whatever reason, the latest version of the EXR plug-in (http://www.fnordware.com/ProEXR/) can partially read some of those files without popping up an error like the version now shipping with AE does. But I doubt they will be that useful to you as there are a bunch of missing scanlines. You're going to want to re-render those.

Thank you for getting back to me in regards to this Brendan. Definitely helps to know should this happen again.
