Allow for renaming of "shapes" and "paths" within a layer

When working in After Effects, it can be difficult keeping track of multiple components within a single layer because there isn't a way to define what the components are named. This makes organizing projects, editing over time and generally sharing motion graphics files for other editors, difficult. Instead of easily being able to change keyframes, each layer becomes an investigation. It would be great to have the simple function of renaming layers extend to within a layer contents.

You can rename these! Just press Enter (which works for renaming anything else rename-able) and you'll be able to edit the name.

Thank you! It seems weird this wouldn't be an option when I right click (just for continuity of function) but I'm happy the ability exists!

Agree that being an option in the pop-up would make sense from a consistency perspective, and compared to most of the others, it's not like this menu is overfull already.

Specifically, adding a Rename option to this menu is a solid feature request!

but you cannot rename the path itself. we are using custom shapes usually and we cannot rename those which is annoying. 😄
