Dear Adobe Customer Support,

I am writing to express my feedback and concern regarding the recent introduction of the new 3D gizmo in Adobe's software applications. While I appreciate Adobe's efforts to cater to users with varying levels of 3D experience, I am compelled to share my perspective as a long-standing user and enthusiast of the 3D features.

I have been an avid user of Adobe's 3D capabilities since version 5.0, and over the years, I have grown accustomed to the functionality and interface that closely align with industry-standard 3D software. Unfortunately, the introduction of the new 3D gizmo has inadvertently disrupted my workflow and interfered with my creative process.

While I understand that the intention behind the new 3D gizmo is to simplify the user experience for those with limited 3D knowledge, I find that it does not align with the expectations and habits I have developed over time. Instead of enhancing my efficiency, the new gizmo has proven to be an obstacle, hindering the seamless flow of my work.

I kindly request that Adobe consider implementing a solution that addresses this concern. Specifically, I propose the inclusion of a user-configurable option within the software settings, allowing experienced users like myself to choose between the new "chunky" 3D gizmo and the familiar "skinny" gizmo that has been an integral part of my creative process. This approach would not only preserve the functionality I have grown accustomed to but also ensure a smoother transition for long-time users.

While I am aware that the new 3D gizmo can be disabled, I believe that this solution merely masks the issue, much like hiding other interface elements. As a creative professional, there are instances when a clean and unobtrusive interface is essential to maintain focus and maximize productivity.

I genuinely appreciate Adobe's dedication to continuously improving its software and its commitment to user feedback. I believe that by incorporating the suggested option to switch between gizmo styles, Adobe can strike a balance between accommodating newer users and catering to the preferences of experienced users like myself.

Thank you for taking the time to consider my feedback and request. I am confident that your team's expertise and commitment to user satisfaction will lead to a positive outcome. I look forward to your response and any insights you may have on this matter.

Cheers,

Chris 😉

Hi Chris! There's a shortcut you can use to enable the legacy gizmo: cmd+shift+1. It's in the keyboard shortcut editor as "3D Wireframe Gizmo". You can switch back to the new gizmos via the toolbar options or shift+V.

Hi Victoria,

OMG, this is amazing! Thanks so much. You just made my day ;-D

Believe it or not, I looked online to find this out, but nothing came up. Perhaps I didn't use the correct search terminology at the time. But now I know and I can crack on without those giant handles getting in my way.

Cheers,

Chris 😉
