After Effects

I encountered a serious UI bug in After Effects affecting the Timeline panel switches.After using the new Angular tool / Bone Structure workflow (possibly related), certain layer switch controls in the Timeline panel became completely unresponsive. Specifically, the Switches area (including Shy, Solo, visibility and other switch icons) appears visually active, but clicking any switch only highlights the entire switches region with a selection outline instead of toggling the actual switch state.The controls behave as if the Timeline panel is frozen, while the rest of After Effects continues to function normally.What I already tried:Restarting After Effects Clearing cache Resetting workspace Renaming the composition Opening different projects/compositions Restarting the computer Testing other Timeline layoutsNothing resolved the issue.This may possibly be related to running DUIK/Angular rigging tools or to a GPU/UI rendering issue. This is a recurring issue that started around the time MacOS 26 came out and I’ve been struggling with it ever since. After Effects (and sometimes Illustrator) fail to start. They don’t even get to the splash screen, the freeze before that. They will remain frozen and if you mouse over the control bar at the top, it will show the spinning beach ball. Pressing Cmd +Opt + Escape to open the force quit applications window shows After Effects as not responding.Waiting hours for it to start: No effect. Never starts Force quitting: launches prompts to report the issue to Adobe and Apple. All subsequent attempts to run After Effects get crash repair options but no options do anything. The window has the spinning beach ball when I mouse over it and in Force Quit Applications it shows that After Effects is already not responding. For the past week, I have been having issues with After Effects opening up.  It gets stuck on the splash screen and then stops responding after it Initializes Audio Devices.  I’ve always had issues with this program, but usually one of the usual tricks would get it working.  Downgrading to an earlier version, using the clean up tool (that doesn’t actually clean up everything), running as administrator, running with windows 8 compatibility, updating to the new drivers, downgrading to past drivers. I manually deleted every trace of adobe from my computer, and only then did it work briefly a few days ago.  However, I have not been able to get it working since.  I repeated the same steps I took the first time, but nothing.  And now I’ve been troubleshooting for the past 5-6 hours because I have a project I need to work on.I’ve tried all of the versions that are currently available on the creative cloud.  The only one that I got working, briefly, was version 26.0.  I’m on Windows 10, have a

Hi guys ! I have an Intel Core Ultra 7 265F, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 with 32gb and my After Effects is still very slow when editing. I’ve tried every tips AI gave me but it sadly doesn’t change anything… I use Twixtor, Sapphire and BCC a lot, which would be a reason why it’s slow but i don’t know… Thank you so much for your help. 😁

I would like to report a problem in the Japanese version of After Effects v26.2.The new "Quick Apply" feature does not support partial match search for Japanese characters. It only returns results for an "exact match," which significantly hinders the workflow.In the "Effects & Presets" panel, partial match search works fine in Japanese. Please update Quick Apply to support the same Japanese search behavior as the existing panels.

Whenever I open aftereffects, it pops up with this message saying it couldn’t open GPUSniffer or something. AE has worked fine for about a year, and this is the first time its started happening, but it stops me from getting in or doing anything. GPU: AMD Ryzen RX 9060 XTCPU: AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D

I try to open AE but 2 things happen:1. GPUSniffer.exe brings up an error.2. When renaming GPUSniffer.exe so it bypasses it, the startup screen gets stuck on "initializing MediaCore" Here is a screenshot of what my Task Manager shows:8 instances of GPUSniffer.exe openPC Specs:CPU: AMD 7950X3DGPU: AMD RX 9070 XT I have tried everything possible. As of AE version 26.0.0 renders that should be rendered to an interlaced format end up as incorrect.The duration of the export is correct, though the content is playing at 200% and the rest is filled with a solid black (No transparancy)This workflow has worked for me for 20+ years. Hi, I have been having an issue since updating to After Effects 26. I use Adobe Libraries to transfer vectors from Illustrator to After Effects. Since the update, 75% of the time, my paths turn into solid boxes without any individual paths when I use the Create Shapes from Vector Layer command in AE. There are no individual shape paths or anything (see attached). It happens for compound paths as well as normal paths seemingly at random.I don’t want to have to release everything to layers and import a full AI file every time I want to transfer a shape from AI to AE. This has been a real annoyance, so if anyone has suggestions, please let me know. Thanks.

Issue: Keyboard shortcut for “Don’t Save” in the Save Changes dialog no longer works.Steps to reproduce:Make a new empty project, make a new comp, close the project to the trigger the Save Changes dialog. Press command-D to trigger “Don’t Save”.Expected result: Don’t Save should be triggered and the dialog goes away.Actual result:Nothing happens in the save dialog. Hello there :)I’ve been working on my desktop PC for about 4 years now and despite some issues with an SSD NVMe and a recent problem with a a damaged USB PCIe expansion card that caused my PC to lag as hell before I identified the problem and removed it, I am quite happy with it. I produce music and am a motion-graphics designer, so I use lots of softwares and plugins and the PC is quite robuts to handle it, even on tight schedules for my clients and big renders (over 4K with plugins such as Element 3D or Deep Glow, Shadow studio, Handy cam, etc.). I’ve been watching a lot of tests that point to the RTX 5070 as a great solution for 4K editing and was wondering if anyone had any experience with such an upgrade, especially 3060 8Gb to 5070 12Gb.I also read there were some issues with the 5070 and so far, most of the time, my philosophy has always been “as long as it works”, don’t update / upgrade.But if it can help me improve my workflow and gain some rendering time, I’d be curious to kn

After the latest update the horizontal scrollbar at the bottom of the timeline is bugged.As soon as you adjust the length of a compostion, the scrollbar glitches out and you can no longer scroll to the end of the composition. Only by adjusting the zoom level of the timeline does the scrollbar then somehow fix itself. Speaking of the timeline zoom, the zoom level will randomly changes to full frame-level zoom when navigating through a comp timeline. Set up is: After Effects 25.5.0 Build 4, Windows 11 Home 24H2 (26100.6584) This same problem happens on two completely separate PC's

Hey ​@JohnColombo17100380 ! are you aware of this bug? this white flash when opening 😔 (Windows 11).I also noticed a longer startup time compared to older alternatives like ConsoleFX. 

When enabling Mercury Transit in After Effects, the sent Video Preview does not contain any Alpha Channel information even if the entire composition is empty. The transmitted video sends the composition overlayed over the previewed composition's background color.This is occuring on Windows, AE 25.3.0. I am checking Mercury Transit using the NDI for After Effects plugin, and monitoring both the NDI Studio Monitor and an NDI Source.Not sure if this is more a bug or a feature-request (having this be toggle-able would be great).  

When importing a .psd file as a composition, I receive the message: "Encountered errors while importing selected items. 1) After effects error: Illegal XML character “” in string “[file path]”. Layers appear offline. Hi,I'm working on some text for a video and when attempting to play back or render the video with the text layers, After Effects glitches out constantly, with random text layers flickering in and out of places they shouldn't be. I've tried restarting the program, but this only caused the issue to spread to other parts of the video. This is happening when playing back in After Effects, rendering in After Effects, and rendering in Adobe Media Encoder. It's a very frustrating problem, especially as I spent hours making sure the text was frame-accurate, only for After Effects to crap all over my work.Below is a video showcasing the problem, and also an image showing the project itself, to clarify that the text layers are not overlapping and that this is not a user fault.Google Drive VideoI hope someone can help.Thanks in advance.

I have a cup with a video of steam rising from it. I keyframe the cup so it scales up and then I parent the steam video to the cup so they both scale up.What happens if you have multiple properties keyframed on an image and you parent it to something else, does it copy all of the keyframed properties? So if the the cup was keyframed to scale, rotate, change position and opacity, does the steam do all of these things also? If so, is there a way to control what is copied when parenting or does it just copy all the properties?
