I just updated to 24.2 and suddenly my razor and rolling edit keys are not working, and not displaying. Had to roll back to 24.1 in order to get them back. I haven't had time to investigate whatever else isn't working; that was enough.

A bit more info on closed Tools panel resulting in Tools shortcuts not working in Timeline, this fix can be verified in 24.4 beta build 006+. Hope this helps.
We're sorry about the poor experience. We're investigating a similar issue. Please open the Tools panel (Window > Tools) before using the Tools shortcuts & check if it's working properly. Let us know if it helps.

This has been reproduced with standard Premiere Pro Projects and a bug has been logged with the team. It appeasr that all Tools shortcuts fail to work once Tools panel is closed (once Project is closed and Project reopened or other Project opened) Thank you.
Just updated to the newest version of Premiere Pro and am now unable to use any tools at all. Cutting with q und w works just finde, but the tools won't show up if I press the usual hotkeys. Razer tool does not work and won't show up, just like Rolling edit tool, Rate Stretch tool and all the other.
It is the same thing as allways.... Updating to the newest version of Premiere comes with unreliability. Why even roal it out if it does not work? Man, this sucks! I need Premiere to be more reliable!

When trying to work in the timeline, my keyboard shortcuts for track select forward (A) / track select backward (B) / slip tool (Y) / ripple edit (D) are not functional. I hit the key and the cursor does not change to the corresponding tool. Have noticed this issue since the last update (v24.1) as well. Attached is my keyboard shortcut preferences.
Thank you for reporting this @FunFürFelix . We're trying to get the root problem fixed as quickly as possible. In the meantime, you should be able to open the Tools pane (Window > Tools) and get your shortcuts working again.
Starting in Adobe Premiere V24.2, you cannot use keyboard shortcuts to switch edit tools unless the Tools window is open.
• The shortcuts do not function, regardless of what buttons you map them to.
• Previously you could switch tools with shortcuts regardless of what windows or workspaces were open.
I've had the tools window closed for the last decade because I knew the shortcuts for everything, but the shortcuts will no longer function without the window open and in view.
Hot keys/shortcuts are not working in 24.2.1, whether it's via my Custom Keyboard setup or the default Adobe .kys. "C" doesn't activate the razor tool. "N" doesn't activate slip edit, etc. Simply nothing happens, toolhead stays as Select.
I have reverted back to 24.1 and hot keys all work fine.
Working on Premiere Pro 24.2.1 on Windows 10 version 22H2 build 19045.4046
After updating Premiere to version 24.2.1 this started happening: suddenly my shortcuts stop working. The keyboard simply stops responding to the shortcuts, except for play and pause.
Fix: Opening the tools panel brings back the shortcuts. If I hide the panel, the shortcuts continue to work... until they randomly stop working again, maybe fifteen minutes or a couple of hours later.
Same problem here. And I cannot add a razor to the preview panel, so I cannot effectively edit in Premiere Pro now. Great update - that was sarcasm. I have no idea how I'm going to cut multiple pieces this week ... maybe have to export EDL to Final Cut Pro? Help would be nice, Adobe.
@ajoliverthanks for chiming in. Since I am in the same boat wrt deadlines, I have reverted to 24.1.0 and am able to work on my projects without this issue. Are you able to do that for now?
