Agreed - we really need this feature, it's so nice in Descript and Hindenburg. Even Premiere's implementation would be great for podcast editing. I'm having to roundtrip audio back and forth to get what I want which is incredibly painful. Would love to see Audition implement something like Hindenburg Pro/Descript has where the audio has words alongside the waveform for simple editing along with the dialog.
Also, audiobooks exist, and the voiceover needs to match the text perfectly. Needing to use video editing software to edit an audiobook is absurd, and swapping between Premiere and Audition to make spectral edits is a poor workflow. Not to mention, edits to the length of the audio file, like shortening a silence, messes up clips.
Adobe Podcast does this (though rather clumsily), so I wonder if they might be experimenting with it to incorporate into Audition at a later time. One can only hope.
