Question regarding Editing in Photoshop

I have installed Photoshop 2023 (24.5.0) and Photoshop Beta (24.6) on my Windows PC. In the External Editing tab within the Preferences menu of Lightroom CC, I only see Photoshop 2023 as an option. The Beta version is not there. Curiously enough though, when I select a photo within Lightroom CC and then choose to edit in Photoshop, despite the fact that only "Edit in Adobe Photoshop 2023" appears in the drop-down menu, the Beta version opens instead. I am extremely confused. I would like to have both versions as an option. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

It is working the same on my Windows 11 system. Once I installed the Beta, that's the default. The only way I know to make sure I'm using the standard release version is to open that and then opening the file. One of the popular YouTube teachers shows that you can change the primary choice in Preferences > External Editing, but he is using a Mac so it might be different.

Maybe someone has a better answer, but for now I'm going to continue enjoying the Beta version. Generative Fill is too much fun for this amateur photographer!

There is another way, but it is more complex and has to be repeated every time the beta version is updated.

After you have installed the Beta, use the Adobe Creative Cloud Application to uninstall Photoshop. When asked, keep preferences! After this reinstall Photoshop again. The Beta can configure as an additional editor.

The catch is, if a PS version is started, it will be used no matter which one you choose in LR.

In my opinion, this is not a reasonable alternative. The best is to follow the steps as you decribed and opened the appropriate version which you want to use.

This is a bug in Windows. There's only shown Photoshop 2023. When you use the "Edit in Photoshop... " function in Lightroom the latest installed version of Photoshop will be opened or the version that will be run in the background.
