had about 13pics I was adjusting, and after 11 it froze and wouldn't paste to the rest. Also I had tried to do the same thing earlier with a larger amount and had problems as well, it got to about 80done and froze.

Love the update otherwise though!

Same problem here...already cleared my preferences. Doesn't matter how many photos I select, if it is more than about 10 it freezes half way through.

Awesome stuff guys...I love pasting edits on 300 photos one at a time...

After updating to Lightroom Desktop 4.0, pasting auto settings doesn't work. After I click the button to paste the auto settings I copied, it sits at 0% for the current task and never makes any progress. I also cannot cancel the task, so I am forced to close Lightroom and re-open it if I want to do anything else. I need to apply auto settings to over 300 photos every day for my job, so this is preventing me from keeping the new version installed. I am experiencing this issue on 2 different PCs, both running Windows 10 Pro.

When I copy and paste settings to another image, it shows that it's processing and then it gets stuck.  Then I have to turn lightroom off and try again.  It happens almost every time now.

Is there any progress on this bug? I also need to quickly edit 300-400 photos a day, and it's really annoying to freeze, restart, repeatedly, even after pasting settings once.

Also affected by this bug!
Please expedite the fix or provide a workaround/downgrade guide.

LightRoom 4.0
2020 1007-0818-b2c04b4 Build

Album size: 5000+, trying to paste a global edit setting before digging in for selection.  It does work when pasting single,  or sometimes for smaller groupings. Seems "random".

It hangs at random numbers of larger selections, only applying the edits to some, and no more pasting works after that (full exit/restart needed).    Various hangs with 20 selected, applied to 19.   140 selected, applied to 86.

Best of luck trying to sort it out, "random" bugs are often tricky to trace 🙂

Maybe this info isn't useful, but I thought I would add that the issue continues after changing my GPU to an Nvidia RTX 3070 FE, which is different than the GPU I had listed above previously.

I have to report a bug in Adobe Lightroom since the last update (version 4.0). I have reported some problems when I have to copy and paste the photo settings from one pic to another ones. Firstly the process starts, but after some seconds it stops and I have to close and re-open the software to continue what I started before.

I copied the edit settings from 1 photo and cannot paste them onto more than 10 photos at a time. This is a pain for editing huge batches. Additionally, the paste task never finishes and disables the copy/paste function until lightroom restarts

Still no reply or update on this bug? It's really unbelievable that a crucial feature can be broken for almost a month.

Looking forward to this getting fixed. LR is pretty useless without batch processing as I mostly shoot IR.

The bug is marked as acknowledged, so will hopefully be fixed in the next release. Releases are usually every 2 months. In the meantime, you may want to simply roll back to the previous Lightroom version, if this is causing a problem in your workflow.

This is absurd... I have to restart the program at LEAST 5 times before I can get a successful copy paste operation in. and even when I do, after copying I lose a number of functionalities including the white balance selector tool until I restart again. a typical photo session results in about 20 program restarts just to get to the point where I have white balance corrected for everything. Get this fixed Adobe. a bug like this should be top priority.

That does sound really frustrating. You might want to roll back to the previous version until the next release comes out. You can do that from the ... icon next to Lightroom in the CC app.

I'd usually edit 1 photos then copy the 'edit' and paste it to a batch of photos, before the latest update, everything works smoothly. But now after the update, pasting the edit to a batch of photos keep getting stuck, and I have to quite the program and restart it again to resume the pasting again and again.

The same for me, just wanted to report the issue when this thread was first in the list of articles. Saga continues... I did not expect to see such an error in so mature product, I am using LR for years now, resigned from LR Classic last year... and now this. The production cycle is two months? Then maybe Adobe should wait two months with subscription payment?

Open album (97 raw photos in it)
Open first photos in Detail
Change Profile
Menu Photo-> Choose Edit Settings to Copy...
Select -> Modified => there are several options selected beside profile, e.g. Color/Color Mix, Effects/Vignette, Effects/Grain, Optics/Enable Lens Corrections
(Optional) Select None, Click Profile
Copy
View Square Grid
Select All
Menu Photo->Paste Edit Settings
Paste Settings progress bar appears, moving toward around 20% then stuck

It stucks forever
In view I can see it is applied to about 20% photos
Cancelling "Paste Settings" doesn't cancel
Close Lightroom-> Sometimes error message shown (not every time)

Any batch edit over 4 images freezes and doesnt update. I get the endless loading loop. I recently took a lot of watch images for a customer and went to apply similar edit settings across the album and it froze after the 4th image. I left my computer running all night and it never advanced past the 4th image. I then restarted the app tied again and it applied the settings to the next 4 images and stopped. I rebooted my computer and it tried again, it edited the next 4 images and stopped again. Ive made sure Lightroom CC and Windows are up to date along with all drivers for my GPU and no changes. This is seriously slowing down my work flow having to constantly restart the program. I have tried doing it without syncing being active and it doesnt help either.

I am having the same issue with LR freezing when I copy and paste more than a handful of images. It's so frustrating. It worked fine before the update. Any news on when a fix is coming?
