Everyone, if you are having issues with Generative Fill, please download the latest beta:

Adobe Photoshop Version: 24.6.0 20230603.m.2196 77b00e0 x64

and restart Ps beta and see if this solves this.

Guys, from what I understand you still have to trigger Creative Cloud to download the very latest version. So not just the latest version that is displayed within the beta section.

Update manually
1. Open Creative Cloud

2. Open Beta apps within the left menu bar

3. Uninstall any previous installed beta versions of Photoshop (Beta)

4. Don't install Photoshop (Beta) yet

5. Click on Updates within the left menu bar

6. In the top right corner click on Check for updates (it will now find new versions of Photoshop Beta and Media Encoder Beta; or at least it does for me)

7. Install the now actual latest version of Photoshop (Beta)

Check Photoshop (Beta) version
1. In the top menu, go to HelpSystem info...

2. In the first line it will say Adobe Photoshop Version: 24.6.0 20230520.m.2181
(if it says m.2174, you don't have the latest version which is required to use Generative Fill)

For anybody still having this issue, I have figured it out.

Ensure you have reinstalled and are on the mention recommended previously.

Open CC and click on behance on the left hand sidebar.

This should take you to a page to input your DOB.

Input your DOB and if you are over 18, you should now be able to use the generative fill function and it will no longer be greyed out.

Hope this helps.

I'm on Mac OS. Could it be you're on Windows and Windows is behind on updates?
Could you try to install Photoshop (Beta) and then go to Updates to Check for updates (to see if the latest-latest version only is found if there is already a previous version installed)?

Hola! Quisiera reportar una falla en el uso de Generative Fill para Photoshop (Beta), ya que tanto mi cuenta como mi equipo cumple con los requisitos para su uso, pero la casilla de texto aparece inhabilitada.

Thanks for the quick response. I'm on Mac as well, though OS wasn't up to date. Updating now to see if that was the issue.

WHERE do you enter this information on your Behance profile?  I can't find anyplace referencing age or DOB on Behance or Adobe!

That might be an interesting one. Curious to see if updating Mac OS might help.

@Joseph300299339a87 Just curious: Can you open a new project (transparent background) and within the project make a selection. Does it still grey out the Generative Fill search bar?

Just assuming: It might have to do with the version of everyone's OS. They probably made Generative Fill available for the lastest version of Mac OS first and now they're making it work for older versions (and Windows) as well?

Seems like the only logical explanation. It still works for me (latest Mac OS update, latest manual Photoshop update).

I had my Adobe account linked to my gmail account.  In my gmail account I had my birthdate set as private.  I updated it to be public and then generative fill became available.  I hope that helps.

Did all that, 3 times, can't even update past 24.5. I pay subscription so this really shouldn't be happening. They either release or they don't.

I managed to get mine working. Had nothing to do with my age. I just had to uninstall (using the option in creativecloud) and reinstall several times.
