P: Photoshop 22.0: Where is Line Weight/Width and Pixels options?

I'm having trouble using the Line Tool in PS 22.0.0.

How do I set the width/weight of the line? In PS 21 there was a "Weight" option along the top bar, but I don't see that anymore. Am I missing it? Or did it move?

This might be a separate issue, but the lines I'm drawing are not showing up. I have a fill color and stroke color selected, but when I make a line, I don't see it. I just see a blue outline of where it is... the same that might happen if I made a "path" instead of a "shape."

I just need to make a line with a width/weight of 20px.

@CMJRoss_CRE

Also in CRE and use for the same thing.  Trying today to make some nice lines and WTFrog - it's all gone.  Not acceptable.  1,000,000% NOT acceptable adobe.  Vile company.

Here's one of those things where you think 'gosh I must be doing something wrong' only to find out once again Adobe broke a tool you had been used to using a certain way for like 10 years. Just updated to latest version (12/30/2020): still can't make an arrow with a line behind it. Come on Adobe this makes you look sillier than usual.

I agree, but it is unfortunate that we have to be loud and mob-like to get the things we pay for. I don't want to be here expressing anger, I want to be using the tools I paid for to make things.

I hope that there will be a viable alternative to Photoshop in the future. It would be a healthy thing.

Blender has proven in the recent years that there's an opportunity and future in open-source for 3D application space. So hopefully someone will step forward and challenge this particular market as well.

The length and density and vehemence of this thread is a message that's long overdue. It's not about the line tool per se - it's about Adobe losing its focus, spending our subscription money on frivolous pseudo features, and breaking core features.

The mention of Storming of the Bastille upthread is highly apt. But maybe the Boston Tea Party is even more so. Thousands of digital artists are suddenly awake to the idea that their livelihoods are in the fickle hands of a monopoly that doesn't appear to attend to their needs. This is an underappreciated aspect of the 'software as a service' business model - that it also looks a lot like taxation without representation.

It's been two months since this thread started and yet this most idiotic change in 30 years history of PS is still there.

@mark_dahm complained about how this thread is getting long and dense, but there's a valid reason for that, because folks are fed up with this kind of stuff.

The thing is we didn't even have to have this conversation at all.
And no, the line tool isn't idiosyncratic or peculiar, it's essential. This is like removing a ruler from a desk or a fork from a kitchen. It is that fundamental.

Man...This is the first time (hopefully the only time) I've ever been upset about a feature change in Photoshop, and I've been using it since Ver 3.xx. I would love to meet the people who came up with this stupid idea...

This clearly ain't happening. Are we to believe that Adobe can't re-enable functionality that already existed - after two months? Either this fix has such a low priority that no one is bothering with it, or the announcement that it would be fixed was a lie.

Both are equally unacceptable and must be met with a mass withdrawal of our funding support.

What's taking so long Mark to implement it back? Entire Concept Art Departments and Animation Pipelines use Line- Tool Pixels for Environments, Backgrounds and Props, etc.

The Line tool set to Pixels is a very used feature in Concept Art, Illustration and Animation. It's speed of being utilized with pixels is a workflow that is used by many to get quick straight lines without having to take extra steps. You are hindering users efficiency and speed and entire Art Department/Animation pipelines for background paintings, environments, props, etc by removing the option. Terrible decision. Please reinstate it for the next update!!!

@mark_dahm Chiming in here to also ask that Adobe please bring back full pixel line tool functionality. I am a digital illustrator and graphic designer. Photoshop is an indispensable program, and I use the pixel line tool every day. Vector tools are also great and I use them all the time, but the pixel line tool is a crucial part of my workflow when I'm creating painterly images, sketches, and inking—for early drafts all the way to finished work. Please bring back this tool as soon as possible. I will have to migrate to other software.
