I read at the following adobe page that Premiere Beta has Generative Extend for video (I use the audio one often), but I can't find the icon in the toolbar, as this page suggests. I'm also unable to edit the toolbar contents either.

Has anybody seen or used it?
I'm running 25.0.0.

You need to update to 25.1

I did but it gave me big problems with many audio clips, so I had to downgrade... I was waiting for 25.2. But I guess I'll try again, fingers crossed.
THANKS 🙂

I need it to extend some AI-generated talking heads by half a second to a second. Would you say it works well for that?

Might want to read the link you posted.
Limitation: Generative Extend cannot create or extend spoken dialogue

Thanks 🙂
My hope was that the characters would just pause for coverage without speech, but the times I've tried, the characters keeps moving lips randomly, albeit slightly. Still works better than a hold or exporting the last frame to Runway.

@Robert29234207g9k8 You need to be on Beta 21.1.0.45 or later. Yes you can extend talking heads video clips, you can also extend the room tone from the audio, Dialogues are not extended.

You need Beta 25.1.0 build 46 or better.
It works, but it's really picky: 1920x1080 only. Progressive only. Would only stretch for a second for me, but it worked well. Takes a while for Adobe's server to digest. Hoping those limitations will be lifted in future builds.

I have all these settings and it still says it needs "Progressive Field Order" What am I missing?

Today I updated PPro to 25.2.0 beta (Build 10) and now whenever I open a project I created a couple of weeks ago (using the latest beta at the time) I get an error saying that the generative extend and colour correctoin features are not supported. Even though they are (I can open the project, and generatively extend a clip). Weird.
By the way, generative extend still adds colour changes to solid coloured backgrounds.

I'm using Premiere Pro 24.5 (Build 84). Same error, despite the face I have not used non-progressive footage in over 10 years. I'd like to get my talent smiling for an extra 12 frames. Oh well, completely useless out of the box. If this is an example of the big commitment Adobe is making in AI, they are in a lot of trouble.

OK I jumped the gun a bit. I had accidentally set my sequence to field order, for some crazy reason. So I changed the sequence setting to progressive. I still had errors, but this was because the clip I was extending was less than 2 seconds, which is the minimum length GE requires. It's working now! Haven't seen results yet, but at least the errors I got now make sense.
