Enhanced audio stays after replace edit

I have a sequence with one track of audio and I've Enhanced it.  It's a talking head "template-based" project that uses one shot of the talent delivering one line to the camera so I'm reusing the opening and graphics by just duplicating the sequence and using REPLACE EDIT with new person so my color correction and framing stays the same.

 

When I do the a replace edit, the audio track gets replaced with the new one but the sound from the old audio track stills plays over the new one - even though there's just one audio track in the timeline.

 

The workaround is to option-click just the audio in the timeline and choose Render and Replace.

Well.. that didn't really work either.   The old audio track went away but after Enhancing the new audio track, the old one came back again and is mixing in with the new one.

 

Seems like the only workaround is to not use the repalce edit command at all and just copy/paste attributes from the old sequence to bring over my color correction values.

Sure thing:

 

  • Issue - When using Replace Edit, Enhanced Audio track stays even though the clip isn't in the timeline anymore.  Even if you Choose "render and replace".   Also if you Enhance a 2nd audio clip in a sequence, it still plays both clips.
  • Adobe Premiere Pro version number: 24.2.1 build 2
  • Operating system - MaxOS 13.6
  • System Info: CPU, GPU, RAM, HD:
    • Mac Studio M1 Ultra

    • 64 gigsRAM

  • Video format: Footage from a Sony FX-9.   MXF OP1a
  • Steps to reproduce - Edit a clip with audio and video into a sequence (my clip was modified to only use 1 track of audio).   Enhance the audio track in the timeline.  Duplicate the sequence (this part may not be necessary but it was my workflow).   Open the duplicated sequence.  Do a Replace Edit on the clip with another clip.   Play the sequence.  I hear both the new and old replaced audio track even though there's just one clip in the timeline.   Hit undo.  Choose Render and Replace.   Do the Replace Edit again.  Now I only hear the new audio track.  Good so far...  Enahnce this new audio track.  Now I hear both again.
