My mouse disappears in Premiere CC

My mouse cursor keeps dissappearing as I work in premiere cc. It isnt the mouse as I tried several. I have to restart the project every few minutes. It seems to get worse with time. I am doing closed captioning so maybe that is part of it.

Anyone else have this issue?

This happens to me when close a project and return to the Premiere home screen, then select a new project from there. Frustratingly, it doesn't happen every time. The one workaround I've found is to open a new project while the old one is still open, THEN close the old one. In other words, bypass returning to the home screen.

I also have this problem when I sometimes change the level of an audio clip in the timeline.

For the first time I got it back without closing premiere, so I hope this helps someone else..

- Command + Tab to a different application or finder so the mouse is visible and move it up to the menu bar so you can click on 'window', and then use the arrow keys to change the workspace to anything else/reset to saved layout.

Hope that helps someone else because it's so very annoying!

Ah, you mean your CURSOR disappears sometimes.
Yeah, me too.
I do have an AHK script that makes a tooltip every few milliseconds at where the cursor is supposed to be...
After a few minutes, it usually re-appears.
definitely a bug.

How is Adobe so silent on this? Ridiculous.
Just to add in more data, mine just disappeared when changing the audio level on a clip in the Timeline

PROBLEM FIXED! I had this same issue for quite some time. When I installed a new graphics card I was also advised to use the Studio version of the GFX Driver from NVidia. This is a stable driver that seems to work with my new Gigabyte RTZ2070 Windforce and the mouse problem has disappeared.

Its 2023 and this bug is still occuring and happening more frequently. At this point it is happening at least once a week where at random moments my mouse will suddenly disappear inside Premiere. On every other application or browser the mouse is visible and working. Restarting Premiere fixes the problem (temporarily), but I'm working on editing a feature film, so reopening the file does take time. I hope Adobe starts focusing less on unnecessary UI changes and puts their time more on fixing the bugs that are driving users away from Premiere.

In all Adobe programs, it's the software mouse cursors that disappear.

As you can see in the example, the cursor disappears and then appears.

What does a computer mouse have to do with it?
It is the software mouse cursor that is not working.

So whenever the curser is supposed to show a premiere pro curser (the razer tool, the dragging/selection hand, most the other tools).

It's completely visible when not showing a Premiere curser though.

@Rainn3336340618ab,

Thanks for the screen recording. That is helpful. Your "regular" mouse pointer disappears when you hover over, for example, the "toggle track output" (eyeball) in the Timeline header area. And it appears to be a custom cursor.

Are you using a third-party mouse controller? Or some type of custom setting?

No, I don't think so. I just have Razer synapse along with a few other Razer softwares (cos I use a Naga X), but I don't think that should have anything to do with it?

@Rainn3336340618ab,

> No, I don't think so. I just have Razer synapse along with a few other Razer softwares (cos I use a Naga X), but I don't think that should have anything to do with it?

I agree it should just work, but such devices/apps must have some kind of drivers (via the providers or OS) that might not work correctly in PR. And it could be an OS, third party hardware/software, or PR issue.

The fact that rolling back a Windows update helped seems important, leaves open the possibility of any of those issues.

This is not my area of expertise, but there are other reports of disappearing cursors. For each such report, I'd like to know the OS and whether there any special configurations (mouse, etc).
