I have a lot of old Premiere projects (CS6) that I go back to in order to update older shows to newer versions. I have been using Premiere Pro Creative Cloud now for about 3 years and this issue started happenning since the most recent update to 24.2.1. Normally when I open one of my old CS6 projects, I am told the project is not compatible with the new version of Premiere and to save it as a new project. I rename and accept the new project file and after locating and loading the media I can go about my business updating the content.
However, since the latest update, after locating and loading the media an error pops up saying "Matrix cannot be inverted." After the project loads, the Project window is not displayed. But when I go to Window --> Projects and select the project I'm working on, I get the "Matrix cannot be inverted" error message again and the project window does not display. Also, when there was just one project listed under Window --> Projects the first time I go there, subsequent checks show duplicate listings for the same project. This has happened with multiple CS6 projects that I have tried to open in this way.
While I have searched for this error to try to find a solution, no one seems to be reporting seeing this error for the same situation as I am here. I have tried the solutions offfered to others, but none of them have worked. This includes switching to another workspace and back and resetting preferences. I reverted to version 20.0.3 and have been able to open, convert, and edit a CS6 project with no problems. So, while that is a solution, it does not keep me up to date with the app which is the whole point of this subscription thing. So please fix this Adobe.
