Just as title says, the transcription bar will never finish. With 22.5 its not stuck on downloading language pack. On 22.2-22.4 It gets stuck on creating auto transcription; it never finishes. Would could be the issue? I can't get it to work with any clip on any 22.2-22.5
as a next step we need to rule out a corruption in your Premiere Pro installation - please uninstall Premiere Pro and then open the folder where Premiere Pro was installed before (e.g. C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Premiere Pro 2023) and make sure the folder is empty - if not delete everything in it.
Re-instal Premiere Pro - this should make sure all language packs are re-applied in a clean way.
Current issue with transcription in combination with AI audio enhance.
Do a new location for both caches.
I knew I was in trouble replacing the linked video with a new one when re-using an old project. It just kept thinking it had it transcribed and I could not delete or do a new transcript. I wish the AI enhance had a way to lock it down so it didn't have to start from zero every time I move the mouse.

This is exactly where I'm stuck. Did you ever find a solution? Language packs are installed, but when I hit the blue Transcribe button, the progress scolls animate, but nothing happens and no time estimation ever appears.
@alexander-riss any notes on this?

What version are you running? This is an older thread, and version 24.1.0 has just been released.

Try clicking the 3-dot button on the transcript page and clicking "generate static transcript"

There is a "ppro_s2t_audio_temp_dir" forlder in my "%temp% and it is empty and doesn;t have any left over data. I do not have any 3rd party virus scanners. I still have this problem. Please help me fix this.

Then let us take a look at the next step that could fail. Can you in Premiere Pro - go to preferences - Media Cache Files - open the folder which is shown in there (if there is no folder selected / choose a new home for the media cache) - check this folder is writeable by you by creating a sample file in it. (the media cache is especially important for working with audio only files - e.g. mp3)

Hi, I have the same problem. When I got to the Media Cache Files folder, there were a lot of different files, ISM, CFA, and PRMDC2. Also, regarding one of the previous steps including the "ppro_s2t_audio_temp_dir" folder which is located in the %temp%" folder, I do have PCM files inside of that folder.

Thank you for your help! I did what you told me, uninstalled premiere, deleted all files connected to it, and then re-installed it. After that, I installed the language pack, and it's working again. Thank you!

Prateek,
He's talking about the PR program files, not your project files (.prproj) or your media files.

Hi !
On mac it should be sufficient to uninstall Premiere Pro via Creative Cloud Desktop - then go to you "Applications" and delete "Adobe Premiere Pro 2024" if it still exists to remove all remaining files that were not uninstalled. Then re-install via Creative Cloud Desktop to reset the App back into a clean state.
Best regards,
Alexander

version 24.1.0 and still experencing same problems from two versions ago is crazy
Wild that yall keep asking people to verify what version they are running after already telling you, as if they might be wrong lmao.
another "new" feature that doesn't work, and i say new in quotes because this was released out of beta into the normal premier & still needs working on. Why yall ever took it out of beta confuses me. Even when I set my languge to english there are ALWAYS clips detected in another language, chinnese, spanish, danish that I have to go re transcribe individually.

This is an old thread where the original issues are no longer present, for example, in PR 2023. Adobe employee @Alexander Riss has been helping users troubleshoot the new issues starting at this post:
As you can see, it requires careful troubleshooting and information from you about your particular symptoms and status. Read through, see what you can learn, and report back here.
Is there a reason you are not upgrading to the new release 24.0? If you do, keep your current installs and see if the problem is fixed. Version 24 is a new project file version, so be aware that you CANNOT open a PR 24 file in PR 23.
Stan
Edited to correct mistatement. You cannot open a PR 24.x file in PR 23. I said it correctly in the later post.

Thank you for the fast resposne,
When I want to transcribe some audio into captions, I click onto the "transcribe" or "captions" and so, and it just stops at 25% of applying it. I don't know what to do and how to un-glitch it so that it can be upgraded to captions.
Is Premiere Pro 2024 looking the same like 23, are the workspaces look-a-liking. Is it good to upgrade it to 24, I've been used to work in 23 but I can upgrade it.
But please if you know how to help about transcribing glitch I would be pleasured.

PR 24 may help this issue, in part because it is an install of the full directories.
When you install PR 24, be sure you deselect the "removed previous versions." You can keep PR 23 installed.
PR 24 is a new project file version, so you will be unable to open a project saved in PR 24 in PR 23.
