Transcribing audio from only 1 specific track and then simply delete the pauses. But no Deletebutton

New Here ,

As I stated in the title, I only want a transcription from 1 specific track so I can delete the pauses.

I have 3 video clips and 3 audio tracks and I want Premiere to cut accordingly to Track3's pauses.

But the problem is that the delete button is greyed out when I'm generating a static transcript from Track3.

How do i Fix this?

Hi there, @Lemonsausage,

I read your message. Sorry for the frustration. I hope we can troubleshoot the issue here for you. Perhaps @Stan Jones or @PaulMurphy has an idea. Paul shared this solution in the past. I hope it helps!

Thanks,

Kevin

Static transcripts do not support text-based editing, which is likely why the Delete button is greyed out.

To enable text-based editing, try transcribing the clip directly:

  1. Select the clip in the Project panel.
  2. Right-click and choose Transcribe.
  3. If the clip has multiple audio channels, use the Channel Selection dropdown to choose the specific track you want to transcribe.

Once the transcript is generated, you should have access to text-based editing features.

Thanks Paul. It seems as though this is a very common problem. Wouldn't you agree?

Thanks,
Kevin

It definitely comes a lot - it may be worth adding a dialog box that warns that static transcriptions do not support text-based editing (unless they're added to a nested sequence).
