exporting option into a word doc for transcriptions

I love the transcription feature. It may not be "****", but I still think it is the bomb. I am trying to sell my company on using Premiere Pro more in its workflow and it is an uphill battle because they have invested heavily in a competitor. Unfortunately, a plain txt file or a caption-burned copy of the video is a no-sell and takes the wind out of my sails. Allowing the user the ability to get quick and easy editable transcriptions of long interviews without having to ship that material out to a third-party "service" is a huge workflow advantage that the competition simply does not have. Beyond that, having the ability to save a formatted transcription of offloaded material for future reference would be an incredibly helpful and time-saving feature for any organization that deals with tons of interviews.

We are having to use both the SRT and the text export and then editing the text file and cross referencing the SRT to find the timecodes, which is very clunky. It is very frustrating when you can see exactly the format we need it in presented in the 'Transcript' tab (paragraphs with timecodes) but there is no way to export it like that.
I am also getting random crashing when I do the 'Create Captions' operation. Most files are alright but occasion files will make it crash even if we try and re-transcribe them in a new project.

It seems thet the new beta 15.4.0 will let you output a transcript as a text file (The three dots to the left of "Create Captions"). But there is no time code, and no 'speaker' name... yet!

I agree 100% with this. When working with long interviews we want to be able to edit in text with timecodes on the chunks so that we know roughly where in the interview we should be looking. The prtranscript file is unusable by anything else and the plain text version doesn't have the time stamps or the speaker info shown on the transcript in premiere. The SRT has chunks that are too small to be useful.

Agree so much! It's nice to be able to export an SRT timestamped caption file, but it breaks the captions into such short lines. I can only find an option to export that .prtranscript file while I can't find a way to open--but if I could export the transcript itself (NOT the captions) into Word or even a txt file, that would be amazing.

I have the same problem. Would be so useful if one was able to edit it.

Totally agree on this! I've been playing around with the transcript function and it's great! Like just as good as the paid AI transcription from Rev. Then the subtitle function is again perfect putting in the text as captions over the interview.

What I need is to be able to EDIT the transcript as a Word doc or Google Doc to create a script based off the transcript. I see where this is possibly going:

1. Shoot an interview
2. Bring it into PP
3. Get a transcript made
4. Export the transcript with timecode
5. Re-import into PP and have PP cut the pieces of the interview into a video!

Ha ha. Maybe further down the line, but for now, just being able to edit the transcript would be super helpful.

Seriously. It would be so useful to be able to print out time-coded transcripts.
