How could I put subtitles at the bottom of the screen? (Premiere Pro 14.9 and earlier)

Hello all,

Currently, the built-in subtitling system only allows subtitles to be near the bottom, not on the bottom.

Is there a plugin or method to do this quite easily?

My current method is: Manually creating a black box, moving it to the bottom of the screen, lowering opacity and then copying it and changing the text. This isn't very efficient, quite lengthy time wise.

My other method is to use the built-in captions on a blank video then export it and then position it, while it is quicker, making changes means I have to go back to the blank project and re-export it. This can be very lengthy when going through the approval stage.

Any other ideas/methods that are more efficient?

No reason to set blank video if using PR captioning. Just add caption stream to sequence, set all captions to bottom (as you say, it will be at a standard caption height, but not low enough to be the very bottom), then select the caption stream in the sequence, and position using the effect controls panel.

Starting off with the method of creating captions on a blank video, but instead of exporting, drag the captions sequence to the sequence where your video is.

In details, your edit is on Sequence 1, and you captions are on blank in Sequence 2.
Drag Sequence 2 from the project panel and place it on top of your edit in Sequence 1, this way you can re-position Sequence 2, and do required edits when needed.
