InDesign has never been able to open PDF files. You should be able to Place them in InDesign, or open them with Acrobat (or Acrobat Reader). I don't know why you would get that error when trying to Export as PDF, though.

Is PreFlight turned off? Having PreFlight running constantly is a really big drag InDesign performance. I leave it off, and only activate it at the end of the job when it's time to do Preflighting.

The font used seems to be Helvetica Black. The pattern inside is just lots of adjacent triangles filled with various colors and gradients.

You could just use the Photoshop file, but if it has to be tiff, use the Transparency checkbox in the options screen when saving.

That dialog is not Adobe asking for a password, it's your computer. Use the name and password from your computer user account.

InDesign is being used at a newspaper and at times one user needs to open the (single page) document and at time another user needs to open it. Is one user doing layout, and the other editing the text? If so, InCopy would be a good solution. If you have designers doing ads to put on the page, they could do them as separate InDesign documents that could be placed. If the ads needed editing, this could happen without opening the main document, and they would update when it was next opened.

I can't answer your question, but it seems to me that even if the file-locking mechanism was working perfectly, having two people taking turns making edits to the same document is asking for trouble. It may be that there is a process that could avoid the necessity of more than one person touching the main InDesign file during any given version change. If you will describe your process, you may get some ideas from users here on ways to have a only one user altering the main file.

In the Pages Pallet flyout Menu, there is an item called Move Pages... It brings up a dialog that lets you choose where within the new document to put the moved pages. In order to move Master pages, have the Masters you wish to move selected before going to the menu, and you will see Move Master...

Hm. Don't think, that you are missing something. Why do you believe, that it did not work? Because you are seeing no gaps with the fills? The "normal" cell fills will not show any gaps. Have you tried positioning it on one artboard, cutting it, then using Paste on All Artboards? That being said, it sounds like this project is better suited to InDesign, where you could place your common elements on a Master page (and get auto TOC, auto page numbers, and indexing)

This should work: Import your table in the usual way, then add one blank row at the end. Select all of the table rows except the last one, then right-click and choose Split Cell Horizontally from the contextual menu. This will add the blank rows that you want. It's important to not include that last row in your selection, because if you choose all table rows, the Split Cells Horizontally option will not be available.

Have you looked at the Manage Plan screen (found under Manage Account)? It will show you the current status of your plan. If all is fine there, then a call or chat with customer service or support may be in order.

The code, having been redeemed, should not be needed again. Go to Adobe.com and log in with your AdobeID. Once in, you should have the option to download and use the software. Also, under Manage Account > Manage Plan you can see a list of Activated devices, and you can click to deactivate the one that you are no longer using.

I have found the problem - the layer KAP had items on it, and even though the visibility was turned off, Data Merge was trying to duplicate them. Delete all of the extra circles, and also slightly reduce your page margins in the Merge Setup. When I ran the Merge with your numbers, the left and bottom rows did not get generated on the first page. You won't need to subtract as much as I did, just a small amount until it works.

You can copy and paste a gradient from Illustrator to InDesign, but you will need to Uncheck Prefer PDF When Pasting in InDesign's Clipboard Handling preferences.

I think you have your pen tool set to Path instead of Shape. Path gives you a vector for clipping - Shape gives you vectors on a layer that can have fill and stroke applied.

Usually this is caused by other objects on the page that the Data Merge is trying to repeat; I don't see anything like that on your layout. If you could share the files with a Dropbox link (or with some other file sharing service), I or someone here could take a look.
