Here are the steps I use 1. Use File -Scripts -Load Files Into Stack    When doing this tick both "Attempt to Automatically Align Source images" and "Create Smart object after Loading Layers" 2. Select the Smart object 3. Go to Layer - Smart Objects - Stack Mode - Median If there is a problem aligning the layers change the above to: 1. Use File -Scripts -Load Files Into Stack     Do not check "Attempt to Automatically Align Source  images" and "Create Smart object after Loading Layers" 2. Reduce the opacity of the layers and use move to align manually 3. increase opacity back to 100% 4. Hi Barbara Thanks for replying. Unfortunately that doesn't seem to work here. I am on Windows 10 and CC2015.5 and CS6 were the same. My default rulers (set via preferences) are in inches (also just tried setting to cm to check if changing made a diffrence). Whilst the small rich cursor box that appears whilst dragging the cursor is in inches, the dialogue box for the rectangle, which comes up when you click in the document still comes up in pixels first - no matter what the ruler preferences. I am using Windows 10 here with Intuos Pro and Photoshop 2015.5.1 with no problems. I would be happy to check any setting screens in comparison to your own to see if we can spot the difference and get to the problem. A thought : On the Wacom tablet properties do you have pen settings specifically set for Photoshop and if so have you rebuilt them for the latest version? It could be that Wacom is not applying them to what it may see as a new application. That includes "Use Windows Ink". Dave ... View more

One thing to add: If you do draw on one layer and use the Paint Bucket to fill on another layer, make sure you have "All layers " checked in the paintbucket options bar, otherwise the whole empty layer will fill. Dave ... View more

If you build up your image in layers - and use masks to hide parts of those layers then it enables you to alter your image fairly easily in the future. The magic Wand tool enables you to quickly select parts of your image and this selection can be used to create masks or even directly fill an area with a colour. It is definitely worth learning how layers, selections and masks work. In the meantime - changing the tolerance on the paint bucket tool should resolve your immediate problem Dave ... View more

Strange indeed John. As to the other versions, if you mean the different versions within the  "AMD" folder on the C: drive, I believe you can delete that, as it is only used during installation. I posted this issue on the Photoshop forums (as well as this feedback forum and received the following helpful suggestion from another user which appears to work. Setting the GPU performance to advanced but at the same time unchecking OpenCL has enabled that user, and me, to use the Select and Mask Tool without crashing. It also does not disable the other tools such as Liquify Face. There still appears to be an issue for Adobe/AMD to sort as the Open CL version is 2.0.6.0 (against the required v1.1) and the video card (AMD7900) is on the list of Adobe "tested" cards. In the meantime, on my system at least,  it is a workaround that appears to work. Hope this helps others with the issue, and Adobe/AMD to narrow down the problem. Dave ... View more

I tried un-installing AMD drivers and re-installing the older 16.3.2 version. The crashes continued. I have therefore - re-installed the latest AMD driver 16.7.3. Note 16.7.3 is the latest (which dropped down using the "update driver" button) and is newer than 16.7.2 shown on AMDs website. I am not sure which version of Photoshop installed these (I am just a CC user like you, but have had Photoshop since v7.0). I do know that when I installed Windows 10 I copied the entire contents of the "color" folder (all icc/icm profiles) and then added them under windows 10.
