That workflow is fine but can slow you down if your hardware is not up to par. Proxies would make playback significantly faster but you seem to be managing, The extreme shift in gamma values is pretty weird. Could be a combination of many things: 1. Lumetri correction on CC2019 is acting up on render 2. Your output format is different to the native codec of original files and is somehow affecting the gamma (although this would be very rare) 3. CC2019 has an issue when enabling the render max quality and depth settings Are you rendering using software or hardware? I personally feel if you are happy with the final output without enabling max quality and depth unticked it should be fine. If you for some reason need a little higher quality bump up the Target and Maximum Bitrate sliders but please note these have considerable impact on the file size. So lets do a process of elimination on a small sequence as a test. 1. Render and enable Render at Max Depth and leave Max Quality unticked. 2. Hi Erica. "Render at maximum Depth" and  "Use Maximum Render Quality" can be a tad confusing. I mean why would there be a button to make your output look better. Shouldn't our render setting simply give us the best quality anyway? Now if we look at AE you will see the following option on render: This is very similar to PP's 2 options of depth and quality but role into one, I found that by enabling max render depth and quality increases the render time if exporting to a similar sized codec as native file. This seems to be a problem that's popping up frequently for Windows 10 users on CC2019. There seems to be a serious integration issue between AME and AE and PP if you try sending the sequence/comp directly from either ones render outputs. Dragging and dropping the seq/comp onto the AME window seems to bypass this (sometimes) but it most definitely a technical issue Adobe needs to look into. Its a codec issue in my opinion, most likely the H,264 codec. Have you got all Apple type codecs installed on your PC? You should get the ACE CODECS MEGAPACK, It will install all the most used codecs for video applications. I have seen this lat on Windows 7 and am not sure whether Win 10 comes preloaded with these. Rick before upgrading to any new releases its always a great idea to keep a the original save file and a copy of it in a folder that you know is safe (preferably a separate drive). What are u trying to look for exactly? If the date metadata was not part of the file you won't find it. What I am saying is this: When you start a project and you populate the Data metadata area and then reopen that project say a year later you will see the date. There isn't a default date stamp embedded into each project as far as I am aware. ... View more

Mio I wouldn't recommend using an online convertor. You have virtually zero control over these files. Media Encoder should work very well and the large file sizes you are getting seem to be because of your output settings. Look for a comfortable balance between size and resolution e.g Youtube HD or Vimeo HD and if files sizes are too large decrease the bitrate slightly. If you aren't exporting finals to 4K or large format e.g IMAX you will really not see much difference if you drop a few notches on bitrate. However be careful not to drop too low as pixelation will be clearly evident. As an example when I have to output something for client review I use the Twitter Preset which has tiny tiny sizes but has acceptable resolutions with the bitrate slider set at 2. got -- 973MByte !!!! ( that is 71 Mbit/s instead of 13 Mbit/s) why should I update , before someone else can give me a proven advice doing so ? Hehehe man u kill me. I can however only begin to understand your frustration with this. From what I have "overheard" this issue is trying to be addressed but there is no definitive solution as yet. I don't use iMacs but I have a few Mac Pros so I have been down this road before. Tried different GPU's, even changed CPU's from 2,4 to 3.06Ghz (have to admit it was a pet upgrade as well)...and bit rate and size outputs varied considerably. Apple touting ATI GPU's instead of CUDA support still bewilders the hell out of me and as for METAL...well, hmm let me remain calm and say nothing. Good luck with Resolve Studio. Great for collaring but sucks as an NLE unless you have a seriously strong (yet again ATI) card. Still a bit finicky as a NLE in my opinion. Fusion effects rely very heavily on the GPU and if you aren't used to node based workflows its going to be a bit of a uphill. Best of luck and apologies for going slightly off topic. ... View more

The video file codecs you are importing are causing the issues. Yes you will need to re-encode using any sort of video convertor or Media Encoder.
