Hi Marcy, After you logged into your app, did you close Illustrator and reopen? Just to confirm, you had the CC Desktop App open and signed into while you were troubleshooting? You may want to try logging out and back into the Desktop App as well. Are you using the latest version of Illustrator? There was a small update in November. Hi Zoé, Does your Mac have High Sierra installed? The Illustrator team is currently investigating the GPU issues on High Sierra - customers with Intel Graphics cards have been experiencing rendering problems after the upgrade. You can stay up to date on this issue by following the bug report here: High Sierra (macOS 10.13) GPU rendering issues - Intel Graphics – Adobe Illustrator Feedback From Illustrator's QE team: "We are aware of GPU issues on few Intel graphics card. We are working with Apple and trying to get this resolved. The fix will be in graphics driver that macOS bundles. Few users emailed us that they see this issue on their MacBooks that does not have Intel cards. The MacBooks that you are referring to actually do have an Intel card. These have dual graphics card and the bug surfaces when it switches to the low powered card. Disabling “Automatic graphics switching” in “Energy Saver” in System Preferences is a workaround on those machines. Hi Jojo, Many of the illustrators/designers I know use either a Wacom Intuos or alternatively, a Huion tablet. If you're looking to invest in something bigger, you can't go wrong with a Cintiq. Something you could also consider (my preference and personal workflow!) is to pick up an iPad Pro. There are apps out there that let you turn your iPad into a display (similar to a Cintiq) which makes working pretty seamless. Plus there are so many apps out now that you can work on the go, which is really nice. I find the screen size of the large iPad Pro to be a perfect format for using as a display tablet. What is your price point? What kind of work do you do primarily? There are so many variables when it comes to this kind of hardware, and someone may love one tablet while another person would never use it. The market is also growing with myriad options, from tablet displays to mobile tablet computers. Before I got an iPad Pro, I primarily used an Intuos Pro Medium and never had issues with it in Illustrator. Let me know if you need further recommendations. Best, Wren

Hi Fredericobonifa, Since the GPU issues only seem to be happening to files created in a previous version of Illustrator, have you tried copying content from these files into a fresh document and saving? Does that change the behavior? Are these files saved locally on your computer or over a network? What kind of graphics card is your system using? Which OS? Let us know so we can help you further. Hi Typhonart, Can you tell me what graphics card your computer is using, as well as which build of Illustrator? I'm not seeing it in the system specs you provided. Based on the lag you've described with Illustrator, it could be a GPU Performance issue. Best, Wren

Hi Olivia, It's possible that this is an installation issue. Did you create the pattern motif in an older version of Illustrator (CS6?) I opened your file on my computer and, like Ton, I can't replicate the issue. You may also want to try recreating the pattern directly in the 2018 version if you haven't already. Please try uninstalling CC 2018 and running the CC Cleaner Tool: Use the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems You may also want to try unchecking 'import previous settings and preferences,' before you install again. CC 2018 Illustrator—Don't Import previous settings and preferences I'm also curious if it may be an OS issue. Have you considered upgrading to Sierra? While El Capitan is supported with CC 2018, you may have better luck with Sierra. Adobe Illustrator system requirements Let us know if we can help you further. Best, Wren
