I just tried that and it is not copying to a new file. I am shift clicking all of the object/sub layers and choosing copy, though when I paste into a new file it is only copying the top most main layer. I am specifically working with this .AI template file and trying to copy this layer and sublayer to a new file. Download Thanks.

I imported artwork designed in Illustrator using the correct layer structure and when inside Character Animator the mouth moves continuously on its own, even while my mouth is closed. Any idea why it might be doing this? Thanks.

After applying keyframes at the beginning and ending of a photo to scale and move the position in the photo, I want to change the duration of the photo. This changes the duration, though the animation does not change to reflect the fact that the length of the photo is now longer and the animation should also play for longer. Is there a way to extend the duration of a still and have it also update the amount of time that an animation plays? Thanks.

I used the Adobe Illustrator file with template blank layers. 1. when my puppet blinks in CA its head gets squished and it also lifts off the ground. What can I look into to fix this? 2. What can I do to get movement in the hair of the puppet when I sway back and forth? Thanks.

Is there a way to have a whole set of new layers for each artboard, so the artwork on layers for one artboard will not get mixed with the artwork on layers for another artboard? I want to create multiple puppets in AI for Character Animator and the artwork for each puppet needs to go on its own layers. Thanks.

Two of the things I am trying to figure out: 1. I was using RGB for my sample points in the Info panel, though I saw in videos that they used CMYK, though it was not explained why. Is it more accurate to match colors when you have CMYK sample points vs. RGB? 2. Using Curves to match the values to the CMYK sample points in the Info panel, how do you get the K value of black? What do you do with the RGB drop-down in the Curves panel to match the K value? Thanks.

I have two images; a lady that I masked out from its background and a background image. I now want to use sample points and Curves to match the colors of the lady to the background layer. I add sample points to the shadows and highlights of the background image and sample points to the shadows and highlights of the lady, and then I use curves to match the values in the info panel by adjusting the R,G,B channels for a shadows curve layer and a highlights curve layer. My results are very off. To begin with, did I make close enough sample points for the shadows and highlights? Thanks.

I try dragging on the layer/layer mask layer and continue dragging it to the tab for the other image I want to drop it into and that didn't work. I copied the layer and pasted on the other image and it only copied the layer without the mask. How is this done? Thanks.

I'm new to Curves and am experimenting with an image by adding blues to the darkest point by pulling up on it and now I want to add some orange to the highlights to create the complimentary orange/teal look. 1. is the lowest dark point on the left that I pulled up on considered the shadows or the blacks? 2. how do you add orange to the highlights? Is there anyway to get orange or do you just work with hues that are somewhat close? Do I just switch to the red channel and pull up somewhere along the curve inside the top right square? 3. should the RGB curve be manipulated after working with the individual R,G,B channels or before or does it not matter the order? Thanks!

I'm referring to actually selecting a LUT in the Creative drop down, or double-clicking on the LUT preview underneath the drop-down. Not just pressing the forward or backward arrows in the LUT preview window. For clarification, doing it the way I describe removes the first and applies the second? Thanks.

As I'm going through LUTs in the Creative section of Lumetri I click on one LUT and next try another. Is this stacking the effects of the first LUT and second LUT together OR does it delete the first LUT when I apply the second? Thanks.

I downloaded the Adobe template containing just the blank layer structure to use in Illustrator for creating puppets. 1. There were not angry or upset face options in the template that I downloaded. I can create new layers for this, though how do I get Character Animator to recognize them? How do you name them, etc.? Thanks.

Thanks for your replies. I've read some articles and watched some videos and am still trying to figure out the full capabilities of the program. 1. Can you make a puppet's arms, hands legs move in Character Animator, or are you just limited to swaying back and forth motions? 2. Can you make a puppet walk across a scene in Character Animator? 3. If you want to do stuff that Character Animator is not capable of, do you import your Character Animator projects including all of the animation created for the puppet into Adobe Animate? 4. Can multiple puppets be animated in a single scene in Character Animator so they are talking to each other? Thanks!!!

Thanks, I will upload something if you are willing to look at it if I still have questions. After leaving Select and Mask I want to make additional changes so I go back to Select and Mask to use the Refine Edge Brush to go over some hair some more. It seems that I can continue doing this and it will just export additional layers with layer masks. Is there a downside to continuing to go back into Select and Mask and making additional refinements if you don't get the result you want initially? Thanks.

When working with Select and Mask: 1. Do you generally want a thicker edge in parts of the image where there is more detail in the background? 2. Do you generally want a smoother edge to get a better result? If you keep show edge turned on and drag the smooth slider until there are no jagged parts, will this result in good selections? 3. Is the Refine Edge tool an alternate way of working within this panel instead of using the Global Refinements? Can you use both or is it one or the other? Thanks.

With footage shot at a high frame rate, I am right clicking on different clips and changing the speed in the Timeline. Is quality affected by changing a clip's speed and then changing my mind and wanting to go back to its original speed by changing it again? After changing a clip's speed should I delete it and drag out a new instance of the clip? Thanks.
