You are likely to have ‘allow duplicate clips’ disabled in the Little hamburger dropdown on the Media Browser tab. I think PP obeys the setting and does not import duplicate clips but fails to tell you that it means it can’t import the sequence (as there are non-duplicate clips). I’m using Subbits from video tool shed to generate XML with png frames, auto generated from a transcript. (There’s probably a way of exporting your PP titles and translating them to subs) One potential way of working, without having to drag subs around is to multicam. Your multicam séquence would be V1: Footage V2: Subs V3: Nested Copy of V1&v2 (which could be a mixdown for performanc) Then cut with ‘camera’ 3, when done dupe your cut to V2. I’m starting a project in PPwith a similar workflow- but using Subbits app https://www.videotoolshed.com/product/subbits-subtitler/  to generate PNGs of the subs, for whole interview, from a timecode transcript. It does a ‘rough & ready’ job of breaking the subs between timecode. It gives an XML to import to import & match the PNGs to the interview. You can ’edit original’ on any PNG and amend the text. It puts the sub text into ‘Description ‘ metadata so you can do a kind of ‘phrase find’ if you’re used to that in Avid. (That functionality has only just occurred to me - will be trying it out today!) (It does also export to loads of different formats- inc closed captions. Requires a bit of setup but the dev is very responsive. (This import transcript he’s written in for this project so it’s still being refined). ... View more

I don’t know the inner workings of Adobe media linking extensively but I’m guessing that the problem is different files that are named the same (eg C0001.MP4) and have a media start of 00:00:00:00. Also Adobe ‘conforms’ the audio so it caches a version, in the media cache folder, and uses that for playback. How these are linked may also be affecting it. i haven’t seen what you describe for audio, but I generally rename files from these types of cameras, giving them a unique name before importing (and also assign a unique tape name in PPro to clip&file metadata). So C0001.MTS  might become D_20170512_C0001.MTS). I have seen PP play old video when a graphics render has been replaced - delving into the media cache and deleting the file worked. So so deleting your media cache may help, but it’ll take a while to rebuild. Or making those master clips offline, renaming them at finder/explorer level, then relinking. Caveat: make sure you are comfortable with what you are doing before jumping into that, as you can cause some serious damage. ... View more

You could try assigning a unique ‘tapename’ for each DVD (set file & clip metadata to be linked too) - that way you can have Adobe use that when relinking (its normal approach of using filename and media start is what causes the issue - as they always match) ... View more

That sounds like a pretty drastic workaround! It’s quite usual for music tracks to be mastered to -0.1dBFS (and normal to reduce gain by at least -10dB when mixing to broadcast levels) When exporting an OMF I *think* PP creates new media that has the clip gain/volume in PP applied (hence possible cause of overshooting 0dBFS) When exporting an AAF the files are copied without gain applied (I *think) - so you shouldn’t get the issue with an AAF (although I think you may have other issues) So you could try an AAF, or have the editor select all clips in a timeline and adjust gain by, say, -8dB? Or have them send you the offending music files and have you conform them in PT? ... View more
