You can put the imported assets anywhere you like. When you start a new project you can assign the drive where your assets are located. You will probably want to lave the cache on the SSD, although it will fill up if you don't keep it clean and having a drive other that your system drive to keep those is a good idea. However, you want to keep those on a fast drive, as it will effect performance. I know there is a post about the best way to configure your drives for Premiere, but I'm not sure where it is located. If you can, adding a second SSD for the caches will be a big help.

They will be re-created by PP when you re-open the project. It is a good idea to keep your cache images cleaned up - saves a lot of disk space and helps with performance

Some of that will depend on how you shot the footage - if it is 4:1:1 you don't have much chance of pulling a good key. Little things like pre-blur on the matte and using a separate edge and core key should help a lot.

You could put the slides in a 16x9 timeline of their own with black video on a lower track (or their logo as pillars - whatever). Then just nest that on a track above and cut it up to match the video. You would just have to make each slide last 30 or 40 seconds - you can do that from the preferences menu - I believe.

You should be able to open each camera file from the Media Browser in Premiere as a single clip - unless the cameras were started and stopped - that will be a problem. Just go through the footage and place a marker at a sync point that is the same in both files. Then proceed as usual creating the multi-cam timeline using the markers

Look at my initial answer - on the image I created a magenta circle. You need to click that - it is the track target. Without a track targeted you can't add to the track - unless nothing is in the source monitor. That is why you can add a video when you first open the program - because nothing is in the source monitor at that point. Click on the target and you will be able to insert video. The audio targeting works the same way.

Also - since you can rarely pull a proper key with a single instance of keylight, you can add your mattes together and have a single layer as your fill.

You will not be able to target the video track if the clip in the source monitor does not have video. If there is video, you should be able to target one of the video tracks

You can also use Keylight to create the matte and then use a copy of the footage without keylight as the "fill". Then you can color correct that layer and do anything else without the added noise

I was not meaning "simulate zooming" only that if the screen object is too small to work on comfortably, it can be scaled up to make it easier to work on if you don't see the jagged lines while your working

Yes - but not through the monitor zoom. If your zoom setting says it is over 100% things will be jagged. That is why I said you can enlarge objects rather than trying to zoom in over 100%

I noticed this has gone unanswered in other threads, but thought I would try again. In Dreamweaver when I open the Extract window everything is grayed out. I was trying to follow a tutorial from Adobe, but I can't get the window to work. I signed out and back in. When I re-opened Dreamweaver the window was briefly active, but then grayed out again. Update: Tried a third time and it is now working properly!? Not sure - maybe I tilted my head in the correct direction

You can export the clip to Audition - the effect is available there under Effect-> Time and Pitch -> Stretch and Pitch Just click on the clip and go to Edit->Edit in Audition-> clip

You will need to track the shot -may be able to use Mocha or the camera tracker. Paint a suitable image to cover the area and put it in as a 3D Layer for the camera tracker or a corner pin for Mocha

I'm not sure that flash files are going to be your best answer. It may be better to take your Illustrator files into After Effects and re-create the animations there. The re-work should be minimal as AE reads all the layers. These can them be used in PP to create your video. Just out of curiosity - if you drag it to the track above can you drag the in-point back and reveal the earlier part of the clip? If so you could set up manual dissolves by adjusting the opacity. I know that's a pain - but it would let you finish the project.

When creating a new sequence you can select "Tracks" - the 3rd tab along the top. From there you select the tracks that each new sequence starts with. You can save various presets from here or load ones you've made.

I seem to remember that the "default" settings for the sequences are set up in the various templates that you select from to start off the project. You can edit those and / or create your own so that it will default to how you want it configured

It will depend on the features it tracks. You can put masks on the pre-comped footage to restrict the area it looks at to calculate the camera. That may help to get a better track. The idea of the tracker is not to return the same solve, but to get the best solve.
