It should install for both trial and licensed products. I was mainly asking about it to get more data points. I was also wondering if something in the activation mechanisms might be causing an updater failure, for the case where Ps never launches correctly and is over the 30 day trial limit. For anyone having problems getting the 12.0.1 update to install, do you have just a Photoshop CS5 point product install, or are you using a Creative Suite SKU? Did you license Photoshop on install (entered serial number), or are you running on a trial license? If you are running on a trial license, could you be past the 30 day trial period? Hi Rick, I'm pretty sure that "Haali Splitter" is coming frorn the K-lite codex package, but sent email to make sure. It is used to split the multiple streams on decode of the file. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demultiplexer_(media_file) Bridge does relies on DirectShow and Quicktime for codec support to playback video files. Hi Curt, My understanding, and I'm going to verify this, is that Bridge CS5 only uses the QuickTime support for playback. You can have file associations setup to open with Windows Media Player (or any other app that reads video formats) but that won't change the Bridge playback engine. Just a little more data on the Ps video layer issue, it wasn't so much playback of video. The problem was that edited video layers in a PSD format can't be reopened in CS5. Hi Herron, I think it depends on where you placed the order. At least for the Adobe.com store North American market it is 30 days. (http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/153/tn_15327.html#Step-by-step:%20Return%20a%20boxed%20product%20purchased%20from%20Adobe) You're correct that Ps CS5 only has a soft requirement for XP SP3 (warning indicator on install, but install should proceed). The installer will not install on XP SP1. The issue with these Athlon chipsets is not tied to the service pack. As you've noted and it has been mentioned there is a DLL that is trying to use SSE2 when it shouldn't, thus causing the Ps process to fail initializing. Sorry, Dropped off this thread and forgot to report back. You are missing some components (namely /client/4.0.0/etc.) that need to there. I'm not sure what is the best way it get those back. There are different Version Cue 'areas of interest' and what you have been pointing out are server related. Even turning off thePs preference to 'Enable Version Cue' in File Handling won't change the crashing. The prefs. in Bridge that Ramon has pointed to are only applicable to Bridge. How do you have other CS4 products installed, with Ps CS4 being a trial license? What order did yo uinstall? Do recall when you ran the Version Cue update?
