While I'm not recommending permanently disabling your wi-fi, it would be helpful if everyone could try temporarily disabling it to see if that helps with performance. That would help us narrow down what's causing the problem. Please let me know if it helps in your case. Thanks.

I'm curious what specifically is slow when you're comparing Mac & Windows performance with CC 2015? You report that the app runs like a dream on Win 10, but sluggish on OS X. Have you tried: 1. Disable font previews - Type > Font Preview Size > None 2. Disabling Libraries panel - close the panel and quit and re-launch PS Do either help Mac performance? Thanks, Adam

David, reset your PS preferences on launch (shift-cntrl-alt) then turn off "Use Graphics Processor" in performance preferences (Edit > Preferences > Performance). Then quit and re-launch the application. That should mitigate the crashes you're seeing when you close files.

We're trying to find a solution to this problem but haven't yet been able to reproduce the problem in-house. Can those who are seeing this crash please provide the following information so we can narrow this down: 1. What OS are you using? (Windows 7, 8, or ?) 2. What video card/GPU you have in your system? (you can find that info in PS Help > System Info) 3. Are you using dual displays? 4. Does the crash only occur when using the scroll wheel to zoom, or with any zoom? 5. No need to provide more information. For the time being (until we can get a real fix delivered to customers) please use the workaround of disabling "Use Graphics Processor" in performance preferences. If your system is stuck re-opening recovered files after you crash, you should delete the preferences in Photoshop by holding shift-cntl-alt during launch. Then go to Edit > Preferences > Performance and uncheck "Use Graphics Processor". Before opening any other files, quit and re-launch the app. I'll post here once the fix is delivered to the public. I'm finally able to reproduce the crash when closing images here in-house. What would be helpful is to know what version of ACR you have on your system. To find out, launch Photoshop. Then navigate to Help > About Plug-in > Camera Raw... What version is listed when you check this? Is it 8.0.0.x or 9.1.x? Thanks, Adam

Jim, Out of curiosity what video card/GPU do you have in your Windows system? Also, to get the preference to stick: 1. Launch Photoshop 2. Change the preference (uncheck Use Graphics Processor in performance prefs) 3. Quit Photoshop 4. Re-launch PS and the preference should now be set. Thanks, Adam

So far we've had no luck reproducing this issue in-house. It would really up us if we could get some more information from those of you that have reported the problem... 1. Do you have any other applications running at the same time as PS when it crashes? If so, what are they? 2. When you updated to PS CC 2015, did you leave previous versions of PS on your system, or did the installer remove previous versions so that the only version of CC left on your system is PS CC 2015? 3. It will disable what few features are GPU dependent (like 3D). When I say temporary it means that we'll work to try to get fix out for this asap. It would really help if everyone on this thread could include their system info, specifically what OS and video card are being used. Thanks.

Michael, I'm investigating this now and have the Florabella Colorplay actions to test. I'm seeing the difference between 100% and 200% in performance when running the Color Perfect action (haven't tried the others yet). What I've found in my tests is that if I hide both the Actions palette and the Layers palette, that 200% runs just bit slower than 100% (1/2 sec difference in a ~8 sec operation). Can you try running the action with those panels hidden to see if performance is better on your system? Thanks, Adam

Michael, Is there an action you can share that's running slower in 200% vs 100%? I just ran some quick automated performance tests and didn't see much of a difference between the two settings. @ 200% we are pushing way more data around (compared to 100%) but it still shouldn't have a significant impact on your workflow. Hi Manuel, Can you tell me more about the types of images you are using? Do they have many layers, or layer comps? What's the bit depth (8, 16, or 32bit)? Do you happen to have any other applications running at the same time as PS? I ask because I've created big files on my 5K iMac and am not seeing the performance issues you describe. Hi Manuel, Let's start with a simple question: what version of Photoshop are you using? Have you tried changing the display preferences in Performance preferences to try Basic or Normal instead of Advanced? I'll try to reproduce this myself first thing tomorrow morning when I have access to the 5K iMac again. With any luck we can figure out a way to get performance back to what you'd expect asap. If you haven't tried it yet, go to Disc Utility and run a verify and repair permissions on your OS 10.10 volume. That might help mitigate the program error.

Rex, that's a known issue that will be fixed in the next application update. To work around it, change you tile size from 128K to 1024K for now.

I'm afraid the only good fix for that specific issue is to upgrade to OS 10.9.x. I've had it occur in multiple applications on 10.8.x but never in 10.9.x. YMMV

The proper fix is included in PS CC 2014. Previous versions (CS6 and CC) will continue to require the white window workaround plug-in to mitigate this behavior.
