Also Ken, if you're seeing the glyph box, it means that the currently used font does not contain that glyph—and graphic ones are usually from the "special use area" inside a font file, so it can be like the Wild West for glyphs. Just do a quick housekeeping check to make sure that you are actually using the correct font and glyphs on your path. If it's from the colour SVG fonts, then it may be that you need to properly clear the placeholder text, first. Hope that helps ... View more

Hey When you're using the first method, you're outputting an image file, and the coordinates there relate to the image map code; that's what "Save for Web" does—it isn't an SVG. The second method is describing the path coordinates (d specifies that a path is drawn) with the uppercase letter M denoting the start point of the path—it literally means "move to this location to start drawing". The lowercase letters then specify relative coordinates to the initial point. So, you are getting both in option 2. You'll need to process the text though to use letters as a delimiter. Or you could follow Monika's advice above, use the Asset Export panel and then open that in a text editor, where you'll get much more forgiving code formatting. Hope that helps! ... View more

There's something definitely wrong there, then. Please let us know what OS you're on, just out of interest. In the meantime, I'd try one or all of these: Firstly, I would try going to the preferences and in the General category turn off tool tips, quit Illustrator then turn them on again and see if the problem persists. Secondly, if you're using the interface zooming feature, take that down to as small as possible and try to use the freeform gradients—that may then show the link (it's at least worth a shot and if it works please let us know). Ultimately, this is one of those rare occasions where I'd recommend you go to the CC desktop app, uninstall Illustrator and then reinstall. Hope that helps. ... View more

Hmmmn. I'm not sure if it can with an AcroForm (a form created in either InDesign or Acrobat) as your response implies some logic is required. Just to clarify, if I may? You intend to make a form available that a user can complete, and then based on their responses in that form on submission they get a completely new document with recommendations. Is that correct? Unless I'm having a completely "foggy" day, the method described in the first response above would simply give them a new document with the information that they have submitted. This would work if the recommendations are all the same, but not if they are to present variations based on the user responses. To consider your response, ask yourself: do the words "if" followed by "then" come up anywhere here? For example, were you to say "if someone clicks "radio button 1", then provide recommendation A. That would suggest that some form of evaluative logic would be needed and that is something more suited to either LiveCycle (an enterprise product) or a web application that can process the FDF from the AcroForm and create a new document as a response which may be delivered as a PDF. You may have to quit/relaunch Illustrator after (can't remember off the top of my head) but once done, it's excellent. To get that bend, you may have to approach this as two steps, though.
