Just a quick question to eliminate a potential problem, if you don't mind? When you're saving the file as a Photoshop PDF, is it to replace an existing PDF file that is open somewhere else? Hey That's probably because they were linked assets, being used in the Illustrator file. Your best course of action is to replace those assets if possible. If you can't do that, then go back to the original computer and package the file (File > Package…) then take that package with you to the other computer. Packaging the file collects together all the assets you need to work with the file on another computer. Hey A screenshot would be helpful here, so we can diagnose more effectively. I'm going to hazard a guess though that the line you're seeing is not really there at all, and is the GPU acting up. Turn off GPU acceleration by clicking the rocket in the Application Bar and un-checking it in the dialog. Let me know if that helps. Hey Sounds to me like you're using an RGB colour space (you can check by looking at the document tab, or by choosing File > Document Color Mode). You may also want to look at your preferences, and the Appearance of Black category—change your printing/exporting options to Output all backs accurately. One last thing—and I'm only mentioning this because I have seen it before (it's not a reflection on my perception of your ability); make sure that you're not using the Registration black, as that's intended to use all colour plates. Hey That's such a nice drawing, I don't know why you didn't make it in Illustrator in the first place; unless of course it was supplied to you. My thoughts on this are that you could separate this out: Is there really a need to trace the type? Could you not just simply retype that? If you don't have the font, then try using Photoshop's Match Font feature, to see if it is on TypeKit. As for the mandala/Sun, I'd copy that out into a new document, and reduce the pixel dimensions, to increase the ppi beyond 300, and ideally 600. It will not matter that this gives small dimensions, as the resulting vector file will be scalable to whatever dimensions you require. Save the Photoshop document as a PSD; you could also run a threshold adjustment layer over the line art, and that would help with the tracing operation, too. Hope that helps. ... View more

It doesn't matter what image format you export to, it will be made of pixels, like tiny mosaic tiles. If you want smooth clean vector lines, then you'll need to export to SVG; make sure that the destination for the file supports that format first, though. Hope that helps. ... View more

Turn off pixel preview in the View menu, to resolve your view in Illustrator. The png file is going to have that "serrated line" in the .png as it is not directly vertical or horizontal—when you export to .png you're in the world of pixels and that's how diagonal lines will look! ... View more
