Latest version of Illustrator - several reboots - trashed preferences - set preferences with no document open - set it to 'zero' while working, then move something (it's fine), but then seconds later - 57.3 Fr%king degrees!!

Well, FYI I ended up using a combo of Keylight (for outer boundary) and a moving mask. I made 2 instances of the footage: 1. Footage with Keylight to extract green bacckground 2. Duplicate of footage with a rough moving mask - this enabled me to maintain the color on the interior of the carton

I feel like this should be easy - the box rotates/changes, but I can't get rid of the green background and replace it with another image (or footage). I'm kind of new to AE. On the PC version, I downloaded an effect that was like a magic wand... but at work I'm on a Mac.

I'm really new to this - here's my question: I'm using Photoshop to make relatively simple custom 3D objects (I'll use Blender once I get up to speed). I export the 3D objects as Collada DAE files (with textures), in order to use in a program called Esko Studio Toolkit. What I get is a 3D model that is just white, and I can't apply a 'texture'/paint to it - any ideas?

I think I figured it out through trial & error: to select only 1 node of a line (a line being 'node-line-node'), you have to dig deep into the hierarchy, and select 'Path 1' as an example - that allows easy node moving - now I can make lines any length and join them visually.

Thanks all, my workaround now is to make three separate paths - 1 horizontal, 1 angled, and one a combo of horz. and circle... but there has to be a better way....

I'm trying to make cyan circle move to different spots on the video, and have the line lead to it. I have the circle and the line as separate vector elements (stroked paths). The problem I have is: How do I make the lines connect to the circle? When I select the line, it selects like a 'bounding box', not the individual node. What am I doing wrong? (I'm self-taught in AE)

I've created several paths based on the letters of a logo, which I've extruded. Everything is great, but I want to take the pre-composed extruded letters as a group and 'fly' through them (similar to flying through a canyon') but when I try to manipulate the xyz axis on the full composition, it rotates it like it was a flat image being rotated (it doesn't change the 3D). If I rotate each path 'letter' individually on their xyz axis in the precomposed group, it's okay, but not in the main composition...

Hi Shannon, I won't be of much help with AE, since I'm new to it as well, and I agree with the previous posts entirely. That being said, hopefully I can help by offering my opinion that creating an 'artificial' video of you with your child probably won’t offer you the comfort you need… babies/kids grow up so fast, and they're always a reminder to live ‘in the moment’ - don’t get caught up trying to emulate what you wish would’ve happened, just be as present as you can and enjoy what you can…. hopefully you can get support for the postpartum. I want to make a video that looks like I'm creating a logo 'live', in that I'm tracing the perimeter gradually. (The logo is a word - PACNX) So I have each letter divided in segments of paths, that I'll 'grow' by morphing... I hope to have different segments of each letter starting at the same time, to complete at the end... I did an example. In the video, the top two lines are what I want, but the bottom line isn't ; I'm having a devil of a time selecting only one node to extend it - it normally selects the whole line (which is not what I want). I guess the other option is some kind of funky animated mask to reveal the linear part of the logo to 'build' it, then fade to the final 'filled' version
