Applying to enclosed items simply mean you won't have to perform the operation on individual folders. Assuming you are the owner and sole user it just makes sense. To transfer to a new drive. While I would do it through the Lightroom interface, a number of users have reported issues using that method so: In Finder, copy all of the items by simple drag and drop. Disconnect the original drive and leave the new drive connected. Launch Lightroom and you should see "?" next to the folders in the folder panel. Go to the top level (Parent) folder and right click (control click) on its name and select "Find missing folder" Navigate to the folder and choose. All lower lever folder should now also be available and the "?" goes away. NOTE: I am assuming your catalog reside in the default location: Pictures/Lightroom on your computers hard drive. To create a backup of your catalog that is stored in a separate location - IE. an external drive go to menu item Lightroom > Catalog Settings and select a frequency of the backup. Then when you quit you can chose the location to store the backups.

If the only reason you change names is to identify the images you have edited then you can accomplish that after you bring the changes back to the main catalog. Immediately after importing they will be available in the Previous Import collection the Catalog Panel. Then you can rename them. If you choose to keep a copy of the files with no edits make sure you select "Preserve old Settings as Virtual Copy." upon import. However, I feel there is a flaw in your workflow as I understand it. Allow me to offer an alternative. From the desktop catalog, Export a given set of images and select the following this way you will be able to edit the images (as they are smart copies) without duplicating files. Then when you're ready to import them back to the desktop catalog you need only select Metadata and Develop Settings. Then perform names as required, if required and while you're at it create a collection of those files that have been edited.

In your Finder Selct the hard drive. File > Get Info. Then in the Info window you may see that your account name is not listed at the bottom or the privilege is not Read & Write. Click the padlock to unlock. If not listed, click the "+" symbol and select your account name from the list. Change the privilege to Read & Write Then click the Gear icon and select Apply to enclosed items... Ok If your account was listed then you only need change the privilege.

try creating a new catalog and importing. If successful the fault is with the first catalog. Try File > Optimize catalog Try restoring from a backup catalog if you have one. Try Importing from catalog and choose the new catalog if that was successful.

What I need the action to do is pause after loading the preset crop size so the user can best select what area should be cropped, then pause again on the saving screen so the user can select the location to save as every image crop will be different. Checking the Toggle Box will pause the action when a dialog is encountered, such as the crop tool.

So it would appear that trial versions are not installed. At this point I am not comfortable suggesting any uninstall of Adobe Application Manager and suspect it will take Adobe tech support to clear the issues. https://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html However getting hold of a live person for a legacy product will be a challenge. I am also assuming this is not a new machine relative to the last time you ran PSCS6

Eddie, In your applications folder you should see Adobe PS CS6 and - by virtue of the fact that PSCC is trying to launch - PSCC. In which case you should also see Adobe Creative Cloud. Uninstall PSCC using the uninstaller in the folder and then uninstall Creative Cloud. Then try launching PS CS6

At that point in the video the entire bounds of the image is selected because the smart object of the shadow was created with an adjustment layer which has a mask on it. (although that was unnecessary) When a mask - the large white box on the layer at 10:12 - is created it uses the entire image as its boundary. Then the operator created a smart object without removing that mask. So of course when a transform is applied photoshop takes into account the entire frame as determined by the mask. The fact that you only see the brush selected with the transform box is not incorrect. Do not change any sizes. You have apparently missed a step in the production of the shadow file but as i said, that step was not necessary anyway.

Do those images have the same name as any other images currently in the catalog. Try searching in the catalog with All Images active. (Upper left of screen in the Catalog Panel) for one of the filenames. Are the new images perhaps in subfolders.?

Are these the dialogs you are seeing? More specifically the second one, upon which the operation simply times out? Try the following. With nothing else running on the machine. Open the Creative Cloud application and go to its preferences. Click Sign Out Then go to your applications folder and launch Lightroom. You will be promoted to sign in to Creative Cloud in a pop up window. Do so. Then when you are presented with the pop up in Lightroom to sign in for use of Sync, try again to sign in.

You won't lose any scalability when you use compression. the application that will work with the tiff will unpack the compressed file, scale it up, then packet again. The resulting zip file will of course be larger than the original zip. Any loss of quality will be due to interpolation of scaling. Whether you enlarge via Lightroom on export or Photoshop, interpolation will occur. The result of acceptability is subjective and often affected by the content of the image. The size you can print is restricted by the amount of pixels you have divided by the print resolution. Many large format printers will work just fine with an image that is 200ppi. Yielding a larger image than if it were 300ppi. In addition I would question whether you need to be exporting 16bit files for the print. Technically, yes, it has better quality than an 8bit file but in many real world examples I have yet to find anyone who can tell the difference. Discuss with the printer service their requirements and perhaps ask for tests at different resolutions (300/240/200/180) and different bit depth (8/16)

When you draw the path be sure the options are such: You can change those options at any time while drawing the path or by selecting the path afterwards and changing the option. Either way your paths panel should look like this where path 1 is the correct orientation.

My camera is set to work in sRGB Are you shooting RAW or jpg. If RAW, then this statement is invalid. The camera setting only applies to the jpg preview in the camera. However, when I open an image in PS it says the color space is mismatched. When you open the image have you come straight from the camera or through a raw processor like Lightroom or Camera Raw.? If you have come from Lightroom then your options will be Adobe RGB, Prophoto. or sRGB. The same applies to Camera Raw. What is the step between getting images from the camera and opening them up in Photoshop? my images turn out flat and greenish post processing Turn out where? On the screen or in print? What processing are you doing? Why would PS say my images are Adobe RGB when they are actually sRGB???? Are they actually sRGB? How have you confirmed that?

Depends on where the Synced Files folder is. You have a choice via Preferences / Lightroom Mobile to select where Mobile Downloads are stored. this can be a location on your hard drive or an external drive if that is how you manage images. If that location is on a server, all above applies. If you are referring to opening the files from the "All Synced Photographs" location in the Catalog Panel then you won't see the derivative files there. That is purely a "collection" Right click (ctrl + click) on one of the images in the "All Synced Photographs" collection and select "Go To Folder in Library" This is the true location of the image and it is where you will find the derivative.

I CAN reproduce this. However, the file is created but Lr treats it as missing. You will only know that if you search for it. Lr will show you where it is expected to be, which is in fact the correct location. If you look in the folder on the hard drive where the original file is you will find the derivative files. Importing with the ADD option will show them in Lr. or you can synchronize the older where you expect them to be. In my case this only happens when files are not on the local drive (iMac) or a direct connect USB3 drive. It happens when they are on the server drives. (synology 716) connected via Ethernet (iMac) or WiFi (laptop). It would seem the problem lies with the latest version of Lightroom (or I simply hadn't noticed it before). When I used the latest version of Lr and the Ps version 2017.1.0 the files place holder showed up but an indication of why it was missing is the filename it gave. From a file named IMG_8475.CR2 the resulting edited file was home/Pictures/2017/01/30/IMG_8475-Edit.tif In other words it had included the entire path in the filename. When choosing to view the file in the finder the Previous location was /home:Pictures:2017:01:30:IMG_8475-Edit.tif. The actual filename in the Finder is IMG_8475-Edit.tif. After these tests things started to get very messy in the Folders panel. The server volume showed up as a folder under a "Volumes" folder within the local HDD. after an image on the external volume was modified. So all in all. the derivative files are created as expected. They are named as expected. IN THE FINDER. Lightroom is not handling the exchange well by using the entire path as the file name.

i'm just right clicking scrolling over to export and then choosing a folder to export to and then clicking export like i've always done. I haven't had a problem with it before The fact that you haven't had any problems before doesn't mean something hasn't changed. What the responders here are trying to ascertain from you is the specific settings below the folder location. This will help to determine if you are using appropriate settings for your expectations. Specifically the Image sizing.

In Lr preferences go to Lightroom Mobile Tab and select Delete All Data Follow the steps online where you will be asked to type in the word "delete" (this is not quite the same as just deleting the images) Then look at the drop down list from the upper left corner where you saw Sync with Lightroom Mobile. It should now state "Start" and not Paused. If it still states Paused, click it once and it should change to Start. Now you have disabled sync. When you create new collections do not select the button Sync with Lightroom Mobile - In fact it should not be visible. You should also not be able to see the checkboxes next to the collection names which would indicate synced collections.

Do you have a backup of the catalog in question? If so, How long does it take to open it? If the same length of time then the backup suffers from the same ailment. Create a new catalog. Does that open in a reasonable amount of time? Import from another catalog (the original 8min) into this new catalog. In any case I will assume a reboot of the machine with no other applications running.

Create a new catalog, plug in the external drive and check that it appears as it should. If That is the case it would suggest a corruption in the original catalog. Then: Using the new catalog - File > Import from another catalog... Navigate to the original catalog file and choose. This will bring in all the data regarding the changes you made to your images, keywords applied and collections created. Delete the original catalog file.

I just checked and found that when Auto Sync was enabled and I had multiple images selected the Radial Filter DOES change its position on every image to select the last change I made. Additionally when I adjust only one image with Auto Sync disabled and apply changes from one image to the next using the Previous button the Radial Filter is applied in the same place. But if you didn't have that checked then that wasn't the problem and something else happened. Have you managed to recreate the issue? If not then it most likely was a genuine slip of the keyboard/mouse and you simply didn't notice on export.

Regarding the How to stop them portion of your post. In the Destination Panel change the organize option to "Into one Folder" Be sure to select the relevant Team A vs Team B folder from the folder list.
