We have tried reinstalling the app already but haven't tried a different app as yet. I'll update once that's been tested.

This might be a hybrid AcroForm/XFA form, i.e. a PDF with two form definitions in different formats. Adobe software usually processes the XFA form entries while most other PDF processors process the AcroForm form entries.

I'm afraid you only shared screenshots. To analyze the issue the actual PDFs are needed.

I'm afraid, I cannot help here. I've only used Telesec cards in combination with custom software with integrated support for them. In context with Acrobat I assume that you do need a PKCS#11 module but I don't have any hands-on experience to share.

I'm afraid that indeed means that you're most likely subject to either some infection or some defect.

Hi @TomGJ3
Sorry for the trouble. Will it be possible to share the sample PDF file which is causing problem. Are you trying to open from email directly or have saved to your disk before opening?
Thanks,

There are some errors in your file. In particular the startxref value is incorrect and the xref keyword is not on a line by itself as it should be. (There may be other errors, too, but these leapt to the eye.) You should fix the PDF and try again. PS: The value entry in the ref field object is completely broken: /V <FEFF00540044002D0032002D0041002D003300310030002D00300033>ref])

This appears to be a bug Adobe has to fix in their product. If they cannot fix it quickly, you may consider using different PDF form filling software for the time being.

Hello Srinivas,
I hope you're doing well, and we apologize for the delayed response and the trouble.
As correctly highlighted by our community product expert, the PDF seems to be broken or corrupt. When opened in Acrobat, it shows an error message while processing the PDF or the specific page with the error. Ensure the PDF file isn't corrupted or damaged.
For testing purposes, you can disable the protected mode to see if you can open the PDF. Go to Menu > Preferences > Security (Enhanced). Uncheck Enable Protected Mode at startup. Click OK, and restart Adobe Acrobat Pro. Note: Disabling Protected Mode can pose security risks. Re-enable it after troubleshooting.
If you own the PDF file, try re-creating it using Acrobat or asking the owner to resend it. Use "Save As" to Rebuild the File. If the file partially opens, save a copy via File > Save As Other > Optimized PDF or Reduced Size PDF. See this article for more details: https://adobe.ly/4c0ADYn
I hope this helps.
Thanks,
Anand Sri.

PDF/A requires that you have an OutputIntent if you use an uncalibrated color space. Thus, you will need to look out for an ICC profile (to put into your DestOutputProfile) with the characteristics you want. Unfortunately I'm not really into that subject and cannot recommend anything.

Indeed, just like @Tariq Ahmad Dar said, this is pure guesswork without inspecting the file itself. In addition to the options he gave there obviously also are the options of an error in the PDF or of a bug in one program or the other.

I remember having once seen issues in this context if an outline entry pointed to a high-level structure element (I don't remember if it was in a Dest or in a SE entry). When visually signing a tagged PDF, iText adds (or at least used to add) structure elements for the signature widget appearance, and if those added structure elements were underneath a structure element pointed to by an outline entry, Acrobat considered this a disallowed change.

Das ist eigentlich nicht logisch. Acobat kann sehr wohl PDF/A Seiten darstellen.

I am having the same issue. The Italian government website I am using requires a pdf to be signed with a CADES certificate, with the file extension p7m, but I can't get Adobe to create this. Is there a workaround in another app?

Hi @hevin_7295,
In addition to what @MikelKlink asked and described.
You can visit this Help document: https://adobe.ly/3QYyDpR that describes how the validation works.
In short, if the certificate was created locally on the machine and is local to the system, the signature validation can't happen on the second machine.

Hi @Prashanth_SN,
Hope you are doing well. Sorry for the trouble, and the delayed response.
In case you are still looking for a solution, we would like to investigate further.
Would you mind sharing the file with me over a private message? This will be purely used to investigate and later discarded once we are done with testing.

Hello,
I hope you're doing well, and we apologize for the delayed response and the trouble.
The difference between "Final Test Report" and "Final Audit Report" in Adobe Acrobat Sign’s "Configure Written Proof" settings relates to the type of compliance documentation generated:
Final Audit Report:
This is the detailed audit trail included in the Certificate of Completion (CoC). It logs all transactional events (e.g., signer actions, timestamps, IP addresses) for compliance with standards like eIDAS.
Required for legal validity in regulated industries.
Final Test Report:
Likely a legacy or testing-related report (not standard terminology in current Adobe docs). It may refer to a summary or test output used during configuration validation, but it does not replace the audit trail needed for compliance.
See these articles for more information: Agreement Activity log and Audit Report, and Agreement history and audit report
The term "final test report" (abschließender Testbericht) might be used in specific contexts, such as developer accounts or internal testing, and is not a standard term found in Adobe's official documentation. If the document in question does not have a Transaction ID and uses "Testbericht" instead of "Prüfbericht," it might indicate a non-standard or internal document. If you wish to share your feedback, please use this URL to share your feedback with the product team.
I hope this helps.
Thanks,
Anand Sri.

True, this "protection" is far from safe. However, if you apply a file-open password (different than the file-edit one, of course) then it would be much more difficult to remove. Not impossible, though.

Are you using the service Adobe Acrobat Sign for signing or are you merely creating the PDF with Adobe Acrobat and then want to handle the sending yourself? The answer of @try67 refers to the latter option.

Here is how I solved the issue. Print the PDF as "Microsoft Print to PDF" on Printer: section instead of selecting a printer in your network/your own printer name. Then select a forder to save the PDF. That eventually leads you to save PDF file popup screen. Good luck!!

That's quite annoying. I have contracts signed between my company and Company A. And contracts between my company and Company B. Company B needs to be aware that I have a contract with A and understand certain details and see the signatire line and who signed it, but they cannot see certain information that is in the contract with A. So I need to redact certain parts. This is common in buinsesses involving construction, subcontractors, landlords, etc.

By the looks of that none of the digital signature fields have been signed (as far as Acrobat is concerned). There appears to be an image of an ink signature positioned in the "approved by" signature field position. For an actual analysis the PDF itself is needed.
