Hi, couldn’t find a specific place to post this as my question is not related to a specific product, but a question regarding an Adobe suite and operating systems.Background.I run a small IT company specialising in providing secure hosting to web development firms specialising in e-commerce and enterprise level websites. On the back of that, we directly produce approx 5 - 7 enterprise level e-commerce website per year. Our servers are only Linux as we feel those are the fastest and most secure, thus we specialise on PHP/MySQL scripts.But for script development we have been using CS3 on Vista for the past 3 years. Because of advancing technology (i.e. Vista running like a dog) it is time to upgrade our development hardware and software. We have been looking at CS5 and Windows 7. But because we provide Linux only servers and myself and our senior staff use Linux at home we have questioned the purchasing of new hardware and new operating systems.The problemFrom what I can tell, Adobe do n

What is the differences between Photoshop CS5 andExtended and lightroom?

Since about Tuesday, Nov. 02, 2010, the Adobe fora have been very slow, and flaky. There have been several instances, where the servers were down. Mostly, these are rather short-lived, in the 15 min. range. Other times, they have been in the 1 hour range. In general terms, the speed of refresh, and response has been at about 10% of what I had become accustomed to - very slow, and often totally unresponsive.I have also been logged out about every 30 mins., with no real pattern. Sometimes, I'll stay logged-in for an hour, and then get logged-out with every post.I looked for some notification of maintenance, but saw none.Am I the only person experiencing this?Hunt

Most standard keyboard shortcuts (like Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V on Windows) work just fine in the forum editor.However, sometimes we make a mistake, e.g. deleting an entire text section.  The natural reaction is to hit undo (Ctrl+Z on Windows), but nothing happens.This happened to me a lot since this new forum came into being 1½ years ago, and I hate that such a basic computer feature is disabled here.Can we please have undo activated in the forum editor?

hello after i spoke with a adobe professional at the mac store, I was told that in my Mac computer in systems preferences, click on international and then click tab on Input Menu and select the arabic input source. Once I did that i thought it would work but then realize i saw another issue.  It look totally different. Please any suggestions?thanksJustina

I lost my hard drive so so after reinstalling dreamweaver i went to download my site from my host and after when  I use dreamwever and open my template..i did some changes but the problems is it does not sae it to all the pagescan someone tell me whats wrong?thank you

Please add "Search this Forum" to the forum pages !It is a hassle that the search always searches all forums.Having to drilling down the very long forum list in the advanced search to find the correct forum to limit is a hassle as well - and I don't get the logic of the sort order btw.ThanksMcL

I use Firefox and am disappointed to find the Firefox spellchecker does not work in the forum text edit window. Is it possible to disable the forum spellchecker and let Firefox do the job?

My document is in Framemaker 9 and when I create a PDF the tables are empty. This was not a problem in FM8. Is there a fix to this problem?

Dear Webmaster,I started a discussion on your adobe forum on Oct 4, 2010 5:53 PM titled  Unable to open PDF file in browser using Reader 9 with IE8 in Adobe Reader at URL http://forums.adobe.com/thread/733688?tstart=0.  Since then, I have received only two responses to the discussion which did not help and am receiving hundreds of emails a day from threads of other discussions that are annoying and clog up my email system as unwanted SPAM.  I went to you service note cpsid_52111 titled Disabling email notifications from Adobe Forums and the information did not resemble/apply to the reference screens that I pulled up on my computer.  I did check a block to notify me via email of any responses but did not realize that I would receive responses to all forum questions/discssions. I want to either eliminate my account and/or disable emails being sent to my email address.  My screen name in adobe is rudy2d44.  Please help me on this request and I promise I will

To Adobe,Since your company focuses on web based applications and products, having a forum that consistantly throws javascript errors does not leave a great impression of your wares. For the last few weeks I've been receiving the following displaying most all forum pages:Line: 448Error: 'adobe' is undefinedI'm using IE 8 and before someone chimes in with "IE is the problem", IE holds a significant share of the marketplace so the code should work - no matter how much of a pain it is for the programmers creating the pages.

K I got some screen caps of what appears to be a bug that keeps trolling me....notice where it welcomes me, I cant see the profile pic, and where my name is there's an extention, this was taken Monday... my profile pic is not available, I logged out and in, cleared cookies, etc. What do?

I need some HELP!  I am running a large tech classroom with imacs and CS5 snow leopard..now 1 by 1 computers are refusing to open premiere pro projects and refusing to open at all...I get " A serious error has occurred and premiere needs to shut down.. I have tried =re-installing ...premiere from scratch and still wont op...en..The only fix I could come up with is reformatting the whole computer from scratch loosing everything we were working on...and Ideas out thereThanksPhil

Hey all,this sankalp from india and im 14 years of age. I had a passion for computers since i was just 8. I have been working on the internet right from the age of 9-10.However, my point is im into many adobe products by today at a fairly advanced level. For eg. Flash, photoshop, as3, illustrator!I have also worked as a freelancer for image editing and logo designing and earned a bit of money and a ton of appreciation. I am constantly increasing my knowledge through lynda.com and self experimentation through my graphics tablet. I wanted to know can my future education lie somewhere in adobe HQ beacuse i wanted to really dive in deep! For a variety of reasons, I prefer public forums to private discussions.  These forums have a Private Message feature but I have not found any way to opt out of them.  The Edit Forums Profile page has nothing on the topic.  Also, hiding our email address does not prevent others from sending us private messages.Is there a way to opt out that I couldn't find?  If not, could one be put in?

I tried to correct a post under an iOS device (iPhone4, iOS 3.1) but there is no way to select the text, nor enter a cursor in the very field I'm typing in.No problem for the title field, or the edit field. I suspect the text entering scripts.Any other user able to do this? should I report it to Jive, or Apple?With more and more Adobe products like Ideas, Photoshop Express, it might be useful for those users to be able to report issues in here.

How to sign out and log in to Adobe forums as another Adobe user on the same computer?I want to let someone else use my computer to post in the forums using his Adobe account and user name. He can sign in using his account but once he gets to the forums this site reverts to my user name.  So, is it possible a person to sign in using different computes and keep track of his messages anywhere?

Quick and probably easy question! I'm attempting to put together an actor's demo reel. For some reason when I import one of the videos I need , the audio is a second ahead of the video. The clip's audio/video is in synch in my video library so I know it's not the video. I've tried re-importing it, and I've tried rendering it several times to no avail. I've been exploring ways to edit the audio, but being new to this program, have found myself stumped for a few hours now. Can anyone tell me why it's importing like that, or if there is a simple way to fix this, please?! Thank you so much.

I was looking into alternative photo editing softwares and I came across GIMP. It's free and seems to have a lot of what Photoshop has.I would like to know from all of you that has used Gimp and Photoshop which would you prefer if both were free?Thank You.-Peter Chesky
