Will this software work with Vista? I have an opportunity to get a copy and would love to be able to use it.Bob
Hello!I'm not new in here, but Adobe changes the whole website and navigation from time to time and it's not getting better, unfortunately.Perhaps someone of the admins can clarify this:1) If I go to adobe.com, the page is in english. That's normal. If I log in and my native language is german and Adobe knows that I'm from Germany, then it would actually make sense to switch to german after login. But it does not.2) If I log in and select a different language (german in this case), then the website appears in german. But if I go to the forums, it's english again. This is paradox.3) If I'm logged in to Adobe, then I'm not automatically logged in to the forums. This is paradox too. At least to me.4) If I'm in the forums I need to click "Login/Register" and it asks me for a screen name. I know a lot of english terms, but "screen name" does not makes sense since the rest of the world would call it "nickname". It also does not ask for a password, nor can't I register. I can just set the scr

I just installed Adobe CS4 Design Standard using the dvd marked "application." Am I also supposed to install something from a second dvd marked "content"? When I opened the dvd on my computer, it had a folder with "read me" documents for each program and another marked "goodies." Inside the second is a folder of fonts and one or more other folders but no installation option. Does anyone know what I'm supposed to do with this dvd, if anything? Thanks os much!
Is there a way of jumping to the first unread message in a thread?MHP
Adobe has made a big deal of the points, red bars to distinguish user, participant, contributor, and so forth. It seems odd that the system can not keep the tallies correct. A roll over of my name gives me 2 bars, yet the red bars for the contributor is still on 1. Others have a similar pattern. Here is the Photoshop forum:Here is the Bridge forum:
Just wondering how it was decided which icons are featured on the Forums home page?Would it be possible for this to be customized once I log in? I almost always visit only the products in the CS4 Production bundle. Do the forums really get a lot of Connect Pro, LiveCycle, Flex, and ColdFusion traffic???
I have been on hold for more than 3 hours today and still am what does it take to get help from Adobe.I have been an Adobe user for mare than 11 years - this is not acceptable - please advise.Frustrated user
Is it possible for the Adobe Forums to support uploading of 7z and/or XAR compressed attachments? The Attach Files disclaimer says all files are allowed except for ".doc, .bin, .dms, .lha, .lzh, .exe, .class, .so, .dll". So I'm curious what the issue is.
The thread "New to Adobe Flex" which was posted here is now in the Flex forum. Wouldn't it have been less confusing to the OP if it was just left here with a note saying to post in the other forum? Who knows if they'll see their answers now.. if the OP had asked for it to be moved that's fine but is moving a thread and leaving no indication it was here such a good idea?
in the Forum Etiquette thread that brought it to the top, 5 months after it was written? And then, updated since I logged in about 30 minutes ago?
I expressed a concern about moving thread from the Forum Comments (this thread: http://forums.adobe.com/message/2223352#2223352 ) to another area of the forums. The link still resides in the Forum Comments list. I suggested that IF such a move were going to be made, folks should be aware that they are being taken AWAY from the Forum Comments area. I don't feel this is an unreasonable consideration. Yet, my entire post was summarily deleted without any mention that I had even existed. Will someone please tell me why alerting the viewer that they are going to another area of the forum is such a heinous crime as to be fully deleted without comment?hopper
Hello everyone.I have been trying to finish my website for a few weeks now using Dreamweaver. Having no previous HTML experience I have had to do a lot of reading to learn Dreamweaver CS4. I am creating a 3 column website and I simply want to add Banner ads from Commision Junction and Linkshare to my side columns. Most of the Ads are 125 X 125 and so on but for the life of me if I use tables, I don't know how to INSERT the HTML text or JavaScript without the tables not remaining in place. If I don't use tables, How can I insert the Banner ads so they are aligned in order as a Row one under eachother in line? Please help as this is one of the only parts keeping me from publishing my site. I had used a program called Bluevoda to create my site which was rather simple to use, nevertheless their customer service Hosting support was so bad I ended up filing a Complaint against them. Thanks for your help and Have a wonderful \day to all!
I give up...Really, i do... locked threads, deleted posts.. enough pointers and threads started by me protesting this and no one else responds... Obviously, i'm in a minority...Oh, well... that's life i guess... Anyway, enjoy!

For some days I have received no email notifications whena PM has been sent to me.Can anyone say why, and how that can be restored?
Jochem van Dieten,as far as I can see, you need some help about moderation in general.
I see you deleted my post. Fair enough. I just wanted to be sure to let you know, my reference was in no way related to your heritage, it was only a reference to the prevention of free speech and thinking. If you were offended by the choice of reference, due to (my presumption of) your heritage, I humbly apologize.hopper
The Topic Header says it all.But to repeat:If the US Constitution bans Congress from making laws to repeal free speech, who are you to ban free speech?
The lawyers state that a moderator can moderate... IOW attempt to bring a thread back to the original topic, tone down heated exchanges, etc. They have no right to arbitrarily delete posts, lock threads, etc. These constitute a violation of the First Amendment. The only cases where they may delete a post is if it's racially, religiously, genderly or personally, etc. abusive. In which case they must state the reason, in detail, for deleting the post. The same applies to locking threads. A moderator cannot under the First Amendment lock a thread just because he/she feels like doing so.Any infringements of the above are subject to litigation. And, as mentioned earlier, the litigation can be filed both against Adobe and the Moderator (for lack of a better term), or either.
I've been following this forum for a few days now... and i've noticed there seems to be an arbitrary (disputed or not) locking of threads and deletion of posts. This amounts to a violation of the First Amendment of the US Constitution, which guarantees the right of free speech.I've spoken with a Constitutional Lawyer (Constitution of the US of A), who says that notwithstanding whatever guidelines are laid down in the Forum FAQs, or whatever, as long as posts / threads are not race / gender / religion / personally overtly abusive, any blocking of these, in any form, are infringements of the First Amendment. ie. the Right to Free Speech. As such, they are subject to prosecution. I have further clarified, that notwithstanding, any guidelines laid down, as long as there is no abuse of the above (and more categories) all the people, such as moderators, infringing on those rights, are liable to prosecution. Furthermore, as Adobe is the host, despite their disclaimer to this being a user-to-us
The Locker phenomenon... once again! http://forums.adobe.com/thread/490990?tstart=0
It seems that the cookbook forum should be a sub-forum of the flex forum, instead of being placed inside Adobe General Forums...
I did post a reply here:http://forums.adobe.com/thread/490158?tstart=0Saying how good it was that the thread was neither locked nor moved... and congratulating Jochem (yes, he'd already posted)... Now the thread is locked and my post has vanished...Somethings will never change... PS: Wonder how long this remains before it's deleted?
