Hi surfers,How to change work area color? in Flash. Thanks in Advance.
Hello; What are the exact methods for posting by e-mail? Do the Sender or From fields need to be the proper registered account? Should the quoted text of the original notification e-mail be included?I recieved a 553 error trying to make my first post by replying to a notification e-mail. Here is a snippet: The mail system <clearspace-1440542950-kWu-2-81rr@mail.forums.adobe.com>: host 10.137.24.42[10.137.24.42] said: 553 <clearspace-1440542950-kWu-2-81rr@mail.forums.adobe.com> address unknown. (in reply to RCPT TO command) I was trying to post a response to the notification for http://forums.adobe.com/message/1912169#1912169 .I had removed the quoted text of the notification. Gmail sets the "From" field of my e-mails to the proper e-mail address registered with adobe's system, but it leav
Posted three times to the InDesign forum by email this morning and achieved three blank posts.See: http://forums.adobe.com/message/1912606#1912606

Wasted time attempting to get in earlier and kept getting this:
I have so much free time on my hands, and I love doing tedious and otherwise useless tasks. Thank you Adobe for replacing the NNTP servers with this lame web-based forum. I'll come back in a few hours so I can login again. Wheeeee!Best,Christopher
I have just wasted 5 minutes trying to find if this problem has been already reported, but finally gave up.The "quote last message" button in the box for posting replies works perfectly in my Mac/Firefox 2, but does absolutely nothing in my Vista/Explorer 7. Anyone else?
Either at home (DSL) or work (shared T1) the first forum page I go to in a session (session is from opening IE7 to closing IE7) will open with "error on page" just about half the timeThis means the mark all as read command won't work... at least until I do a page refresh and the page loads properlyIt doesn't matter if I start at this discussion area, or in an actual product forum... I get a loading error about half the timeOnce I do a refresh, so that page loads OK, going on to a different forum does not cause problemsI wonder if this is some other effect of the cookie not working correctly?Sigh... I do SO wish that webx had been up to the task of running all the Adobe forums
When I hover over an avatar in a discussion, I get a little popup showing bits of the poster's profile, including a picture. But it seems to be the avatar yet again - wouldn't it make more sense if the profile popup showed the profile picture? That way, the avatar does its duty of providing a quick visual indication of the poster, whereas the popup will show you what he looks like if he's put an image of himself on his profile. Using resources to load the same image twice in just about the same place on the page strikes me as daft. What do you think?Noel
love the new forums... but hate the performance. Keep in mind my internet connection is 20MB/S download speed, there are times the pages wont even finish loading and you have to stop and reload again and/or very slow loading times. Of course, there are times the performance is as expected, but rarely. I hope Adobe plans to support the forums with better hosting.
I've just installed the stylish script that changes the color of the "updated" indicator in the Discussion list, from here:http://userstyles.org/styles/16994I was wanting to change the red to be a bit brighter, more tomato-red (it looks more like burgundy on my monitor). Don't want to get into calibration discussion, though! I've been looking at this chart to determine a better color,http://html-color-codes.com/but if I change the 600 to something else I get quite unexpected colors.Could somebody set me straight on whether the color numbers in that chart should work, and that it's just a matter of changing the number in this line: color:#600 !important;to, say the number "300", or am I way off in left field. Thanks much,Sheila
http://forums.adobe.com/thread/419236 - the poster inserted a jpg attachment, but I cannot find how to view that attachment. Left-clicking, right-clicking, double-clicking... all does not do anything?Does anybody here know how to view an attachment in this new forum? I've seen this kind of unviewable attachments a couple of times, although some attachments pose no problem, as this
Anyone out there reading these posts in a feed reader?Unless there's a signature in the post, anything posted at the web forum shows up with 'forums@adobe.com' as the author, so there's no way of seeing who's written what. One good reason to have a signature on each post. There are two <author> tags for each post, one of them <atom:author> which contains <atom:email>. In all the feeds I've looked at, the contents of the two tags are identical; either the email address of the poster for those submitted by email or the generic 'forums' address. I know nothing about how spammers harvest addresses to spam, but it looks like these are just as vulnerable to harvesting as addresses en clair on a web page. Are they? Perhaps the feed generator could be persuaded to drop the <atom:email> tag altogether, and to use the author's display name instead of an address for the <author> bit. Then we wouldn't need signatures.Noel
What is the best product to use to edit, i.e. add/remove text in a pdf document, I am trying to modify a proposal form (phone no. and addresses). Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I logged in, and the fair forums had returned. The first words of the first post I read were: "Is it really over?" I was just as filled with relief as was the poster.I started looking for the threads I posted to yesterday. And then I woke up, in the middle of the night.
He's back to one red blob!
I use, Mozilla Firefox v 3.0.8 on MacBook Pro1. When searching the forum with 'more options' on, I cannot use keyboard, to quickly navigate to the first letter of the category I want to search. When I press any letter - nothing happens. Works fine in Safari. Please fix...2. The categories in the advanced search are NOT alphabetically sorted! Quite awkward..3. The categories window is soooooo small, it takes hours to see what you need. Normally I would expect to see a window at least 3 times bigger (taller). Besides a drop-down list with ALL the categories would be very nice.4. The 'more options' button SHOULD be present under the 'search' window at all times, not only after I perform a search - why should it take 2 clicks, rather than 1?!
I access the forums almost exclusively through Thunderbird. I generally write and respond to posts while I'm not actively connected to the internet. Without good e-mail access, I will not be able to participate in the forums. (at least not the way I do now) Is there at least going to be decent alternatives? Signed, A very unhappy Harbs :(
Hey! I've got a problem. I put a subtittle file on Encore and it says an error. It says: "The software used to descodificar isn't able"I dont know what's that mean. I'm shure the file is ok about format. Please somebody help me.
I have noticed that, since the new forums launched, the breadcrumb links often are incorrect. For example: I am in: Adobe Forums > Flash > FlashIf I click the first Flash - to go up to the listing of forums in the Flash area the link is often (not always, but about 90% of the time): http://forums.adobe.com/community/flash?view=discussions | This link does not work. It gives an error "You are not allowed to create discussions in this region" - because of the ?view=discussions at the end of the link. When I remove that querystring it loads the page correctly. I have noticed that when the link does work the querystring is ?view=overview. This happens all over the forums, not just in the Flash area.
When I got into work this morning, I checked my email and newsgroups as usual. When I selected adobe.photoshop.lightroom, my newsreader chugged away for a minute or so and then gave me a "host not found" error. I tried again a few minutes later, with the same result. So I decided to browse over to http://forums.adobe.com and see if the forums were up. Imagine my surprise when I discovered that(a) there's new forum software(b) there was no NNTP-visible announcement of the new forum software(c) NNTP will no longer be supported. Is Adobe trying to alienate a certain class of user? If so, they're succeeding.I have used NNTP for a decade and a half. It is a highly efficient way of sharing information. Using a newsreader, I can see the list of postings since my last visit (and *only* those posting), or I can see all postings. I can sort them quickly, in any order I wish. The listing will have only the information I choose to show (in my case, it'
... the day when someone gets another red blob on that little progress bar. ... thought I was going to say something else – right?
Yeah, I'm an idiot. I can't figure out these new forums. After going through the ugly process below, I'd like to see:- On the initial page, a way to specify that I only want to search the forum I'm already in.- On the initial page of the forum a Help button for search help. Somewhere.- Please don't make me go through the pain of refinding my chosen forum in the Where drop-down list.- Consistent use of defined terms. The search result shows me "Items". I think those are also called "Discussions".For those who want to see how stupid I really am, here's a play by play so far....Got myself to the Illustrator forum, no problem. I don't see my problem listed on the first page here. Hmmm, how do I search? Best to read the instructions. Is there a "Newbies Search Help" button somewhere? Anywhere? Nope. Well, guess I'll forge ahead. Here's a "Search Forums" blank. I'll type "feather". Let's see, 198 results. Cool. Here's a possibility: "directional feather". I'll
In the messages from one participant, I am getting a misterious horizontal scroll bar as seen here:More curiously, I see the bar in Vista/Explorer 7, but not in Mac/Firefox 2. The poster affirms not to be doing anything special, and says he is using Firefox on Vista. Anyone else? Any ideas?
