Video Hardware

That is the question. Can Premiere and After FX benefit for having both dedicated and integrated graphics enabled at the same time or will one mess with the other? I recently talked to a support person on AMD and he recommended that I disable the integrated graphics on my intel 9700K. But then I saw a video by this guy saying I should have both enabled, so I'm confused 🤔 🤔 

Hi guys! Help! I'm not experienced user. I need a very cheap discrete video card for my computer which take part in video rendering (accelerating) in order to render videos faster. As far as I understand - I need nvidia, but will for example very cheap gt 710 2 gb, gddr5, take part in finishing video rendering to do it faster and if yes then how faster that finish rendering (%) than without it? I need it for a few weeks replacing it with another videocard, so I don't want to spend much. Thank you!

My desktop computer died and shortly after so did my laptop. I'm in the process of building a new desktop I have most of the parts but I had a question about scratch disc and media cache. I use Premiere. Photoshop, and would like to learn more in Illustrator. Processor: i7 11700k - 8 core, 3.6ghz - 5ghz day 360 mm liquid coolerRam: 128GB DDR4Hard Drive: 1TB m.2 - 7000mb/s As you can see the system is decent.. the motherboard only has one PCIe Gen 4 slot. Well how's my operating system and applications. It does have 2 more m.2 PCIe Gen 3 slots (3600mb/s). I want to use it for a scratch disc should I also put media cash on the same drive or shall I get two separate drives I'm not sure how much one affects the other etc and what size I should buy 512GB, 1TB or 2TB. I didn't mention video card in my setup above because I just have something mediocre once I finish paying off all the components I will look at a 30xx card.     

I have an NVIDA Tesla M4 GPU, running Premiere Pro on a Windows instance on AWS (Windows Server 2022). I am trying to export using hardware encoding. If I go to Edit->Preferences->Media then the h264 / HEVC hardware accelerated encoding / decoding are both on. When I try to export the project from Premiere Pro, the option to use hardware encoding is greyed out. Any ideas? Thank you!

Not sure how that happened - sorry!) I have a laptop with a 11th Gen Intel Core i9 11900H processor (so it has Quick Synch acceleration), and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Ti Laptop GPU (so NVENC capable) I am trying to export a project from Premiere Pro, h264 format with VBR-1 encoding, yet I get the above error saying I can't use hardware acceleration. Any ideas? Thanks"

Hi all, Been dealing with some odd issues lately, that have recently gotten stranger. So, we are replacing older edit laptops with new HP Fury 15 G8s. I7-11850H, Nvidia T1200, 32GB ram, running Premiere 22.5. First, this particular laptop seemed to have more issues especially with videos downloaded from a web source (latakoo, using different encoding/file types rather than our standard). Still should work, but odd behavior like freezing, or distorted video..Now, Premiere started immediately crashing when pressing New Project button. BUT, only when doing so as non-admin.. This generated several nvlddmkm errors:InfoROM FS corrupt on inital load.SPI read failure at address 144!Error occurred on GPUID:100I have reinstalled windows, deleted drivers with DDU, clean installed different versions of quadro drivers, reinstalled premiere.. Still get that same behavior. I could understand a defective GPU causing such issue.. But, to so specifically prohibit creating a new project, only non-ad

thanks for any input !Background : My laptop Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-7700HQ CPU @ 2.80GHz 2.80 GHz 16.0 GB seems to not be able to handle much of the After Effects and is a little cranky with Illustrator. Plan : So wanting a PC So im now wondering AMD Ryzen 9 7900X CPU 12 Core / 24 Thread - 76MB Cache VS Intel Core i9 12900K CPU 16 Core / 24 Thread - Max Turbo 5.2GHz - 30MB Cache 32-64 ddr5 RAM probably  not wanting a GPU as i understand that its not a must at the moment mostly working with videos 1920X1080 not 4k as mostly for Facebook and such . What say you 😛 thanks for any input ! 

Hello guys, I have 3 internal hard drives : - 2 Samsung 980 PRO NVMe M.2 PCIe 4.0 (500Go each)- 1 Samsung SSD 870 EVO (1Tb) My OS and programs are installed on the first 980 pro, my media files (videos and images) and projects are stored on the 870 evo. And my cache folder is located on the second 980 pro.Does that sound good to you guys in terms of performance or chould I change something ?And what about scratch files ? Should I leave them on the same SSD as the media files (870 evo) or locate them on the hard drive containing the cache folder (second 980 pro) ?Btw I'm also trying to learn After Effects so I guess same rules would apply ?My system is AMD 5900x cpu, NVidia RTX 3070 gpu & 64go Ram.Thx a lot for your advices and wish you all a nice day !

Premiere won't allow me to use hardware acceleration when exporting with CBR on my M1 Max. However when using VBR I have the option of using hardware acceleration which is a lot quicker.  Currently, using software-only CBR, exports are taking 2.5 hours for a 2 minute film. This obviously isn't viable. Can anyone tell me why CBR doesn't have a hardware acceleration option on the M1 Max, while VBR does?

Hello all, I have a quick, but important question about Premiere Pro CC 2018. It seems that Premiere Pro is using my integrated graphics on my CPU rather than using my installed and working dedicated graphics card to render GPU accelerated effects and such. I am running a fresh install of Windows 10 with the latest updates. I also have a fully updated Creative Suite. Below I have listed my system specs and screenshots for reference to the issue. Notice that under GPU Engine in Task Manager, it lists GPU 0, my integrated graphics. I have also done some research of my own, and I have come across adding the "cuda_supported_cards.txt" into Premiere Pro's installation directory. I have done that, and I have tried both typing "GeForce GTX 1060" and "GeForce GTX 1060 6GB" into the document, but its the same story for both cases: it uses my integrated graphics. Sony a1 400mbps and 520mbps files can't playback got and 3080ti they mostly all lag.Sometimes 400mpbs files don't and can be played back but thats only 20% of the time.Can anybody help me out?

Hi all, I'm on the market for a new computer, and think I've finally made the decision to switch from working on PC's to an iMac. I started typing up a whole post here detailing all the different iMac options in the hopes that someone more knowledgeable than myself can assist me in choosing the right machine for me, but stopped after realizing how long the post was going to be ☺️ So instead I'll just ask this-if I call up Apple support and ask them to help me figure out what specs I need for my work, can I trust them to give me an honest opinion? Or will they just push me to get more than I need just so they can make a sale? I'm totally unfamiliar with Apple products and don't know enough about computer specs to know what I truly need for my work and what's unnecessary. I need someone who's familiar with how Adobe programs work to guide me in choosing my new computer. Does anyone have any experience dealing with sales reps at Apple? Tia! 

Hello. I'm having trouble playing back video in my timeline after i speed it up. Sometimes anything over 300% speed will lag. I have a pretty hefty system so I'm not sure why it would lag so bad. GPU acceleration CUDA is enabled. Windows graphics settings are set to GPU high performance. I usually use Iphone .MOV HEVC 4k footage. I can play anything back in normal speed 4k full res in timeline without rendering but when i speed it up it lags. I have Premiere Pro installed on an M.2 SSD but i keep the footage on either an internal HD or portable HD. When the final video is exported it is fine but id like to preview smoothly before export. I have 2 32" 4k monitors 1 hooked up to internal graphics and 1 hooked up to GPU. I use the one hooked up to GPU for premiere pro. Maybe if i plugged both into GPU and turn off internal graphics? Hello Experts,I am sufferring from slow rendering speed and preview of my after effect projects(having couple of effects only I will say) and makes the learning experience quite slow. Below is my current configuration and looking for an upgrade( budget no concern ) so that atleast my learning speed can be faster. I have i3 processor laptop with 16 GB ram And ires graphics11th generation512-SSD It is enough for my youtube channel?Or i3 processor is not enough?

I need recomendations for a replacement for my 27" iMac that no longer runs Premiere Pro, Media encoder or Photo shop, the three main products I use.  the i7 core is defective and has no solution for that. Apple will change the graphics card but most comments say that the change actually makes destroys the rest of the computer.  How are other people dealing with this? I am a video editor and need to know what hardware is working for others. Thanks.
