Before I shoot myself in the foot, I'd like to find a good tutorial or other documentation on the best way to use my three computers.  I had been getting by with just a Macbook but recently acquired an iMac and rediscovered my iPad.  I have Photoshop CC and Lightroom Classic CC installed on both the iMac and the Macbook, and Lightroom CC (Mobile) on the iPad.  I also have the 20GB version of Creative Cloud and about 170GB worth of RAW image files, along with about 15GB of catalog.  What I'd like to be able to do is this:1.  Use my iPad and my Macbook when away from home to finally do what I should have done long ago: cull, keyword, and in general better organize my 8000-image catalog.  Full-on editing will generally be limited to the iMac, due to the screen size.2.  On the road, I'd like to limit my risk of loss by bringing only my iPad.  I believe there is provision for using the iPad  for capturing images and doing some initial editing for

Hey, I upgraded to 2019 about a month ago (I know i shouldnt have) The reason why i updated was that i was having alot of bugs in mocha for ae inside the 2018. Ever since i upgraded everything has been slow(I mainly use PP, AE and Audition) I contacted support earlier this week with all of my issues and they said they my 980ti isnt supported by cc 2019 i asked alot of question and didnt get a response from them so i asked for an escalation, they said the offline team will contact me in 24-48 hours,. its been over 70 hours now and i still havent heard back from anyone and im still facing all the same issues. I am currently rendering a 5 secound 4k clip from AE (its just a green screen removal and a still image background) it is taking about 4hours and 40 minutes not to mention that my previews are just as slow its not just the render. I am trying to get help and figure out if i can fix this so my questions are.Is there a workaround to cc 2019 not supporting my GPU?is support for my GPU

Hello,I have a iMac 5k, 27in, Late 2015, 4 Ghz i7 with 24gb of memory, 512 SSD, and AMD Radeon R9 M395X.I am beginning post on a 4K doc and am trying to figure out the most economical HDD set-up that will allow me to playback and edit in 4K if possible. I have around 2TB of material, so editing from the internal SSD is not an option, unless I use proxies (haven't tested how much space they'll require).Recommendations for an optimal HDD set-up on a budget? 2TB SSD in a Thunderbolt or USB enclosure (B&H has 2TB Samsung 860 on sale right now ... would that do the trick?)? Building an array (RAID 5?). If the array is the recommended route, I could really use recs on how to build an affordable set-up (Do I need to go with OWC ($$$)? Is there a way to do this that doesn't set me back for *well* over $1000 with the enclosure + drives?)Or... do I generate proxies and throw those on my internal SSD if I have room (again, haven't tested how much space proxies will take) or one of my 4TB OWC

Yesterday I bought the base model 15" MacBook Pro with 256gb of storage. I did a quick edit today and so far it is a great computer. Usually I work on one project and after I finished the project I transfer the files to a 2tb external hard drive. But after two days with the new MacBook, I only have 150gb left. This is only the OS, Adobe programs and the media files of one project. I am now thinking of either: 1: I return my Mac and get one with more storage (512gb). But storage at Apple is really expensive and 512gb is getting full quickly too. OR2. Get an external SSD, for example a 1tb Samsung T5, and edit larger projects from the external ssd. This is a cheaper solution and I read online that it is not a problem to use an external hard drive to edit from. But on the other hand, the Internal SSD of my Mac is very very fast. I also like this solution, since it keeps my Mac clean. Do I notice any speed difference with an external ssd compared to the internal Mac SSD? What would you do?

I just upgraded my GPU from the Ati Radeon HD 7850 2GB that came with my PC, to a Sapphire AMD Radeon NITRO+ RX 580 8GB card.The card works absolutely fine, I downloaded the latest drivers for it and tested it on various 3D applications.But now I've just discovered that Premiere Pro and Media Encoder won't start up. I just get the startup screen, but nothing happens, it just hangs there without loading any libraries until after a few minutes the system tells me it's stopped responding.The same problem is also affecting Audition, but Photoshop starts fine.I am on Windows 7 64bit.I tried uninstalling Premiere (including preferences) from Creative Cloud and re-installing. No change. I also tried rolling back to a previous version (12.1.1) but still no change.Interestingly, if I install the 2017 version of Premiere, it works fine, but it loads more slowly than ever before. If I go to the GPU selection screen, there's no GPU acceleration option, everything is greyed out apart from Engine So

Hi! I'm going to get a new work computer early next year and I'll have some say in what I'll need out out of it. I don't know what my budget will be but I'll only need to give out IT department guidelines on what I need (I don't need to tell them exactly what parts I want).I typically work with software and website design/workflows and mostly use Adobe XD to create wireframes and mockups for apps and websites. I create my assets with Illustrator (usually icons) and Photoshop (pictures for web). Usually the files are pretty small around 5-10 mb (usually the Adobe XD files have tons of layers). But the Adobe applications crash on me a lot (a few times every day) and the whole computer lags when I have a few instances of them open at the same time.I currently have an older i7 with 4 cores (I don't remember what gen), 16GB of RAM and a SSD with enough storage, some intel integrated GPU. We use Windows 10 at work and I do need to use windows specific developer tools such as Visual Studio so

Looking to get a new drive setup for a new build and wondering about some things.Was going to do two 1tb SSDs in Raid with the media files, and a 1Tb Nvme drive with the cache and proj files with the OS on another SSD. Would the Raid setup really be much faster than 1 good SSD? Is the location of where I wanted to put things going to the right spots or should they be reversed?Any tips or better suggestions appreciated.

I'm about to build a new PC and wanted some input from the community about SSD allocation that will optimize editing workflow on CC apps. my motherboard will only have 1 slot for an M.2 drive. I am a freelance editor and work on the go a lot so I need a laptop that can handle Premiere Pro. I need to use it professionally when work doesn't supply an editing computer for me, it's only online content so no 4k.I heard the HP Zbook is good but it's almost $5k, the Dell xps 15 seemed ok too. With CC 19 just coming out, it would be good to look for something that can run it. My budget is $3700 AUD max. 

I'm looking to buy a video editing laptop. I mainly use After Effects, but the laptop needs to be able to run some image editing applications and I'd like some minor gaming too. I want a touch screen with pen support. I know After Effects loves RAM, but I'm not sure how much would be ideal (16GB or more?) and I don't know if a separate GPU would be helpful or not. Portability and weight aren't my main concerns. I would prefer a larger model (13" feels a little small). I'm not a big fan of MacBooks either. I'd rather go with Windows, even if it means a slightly less powerful device. Battery life isn't my biggest concern, but it still needs to be good.The main laptop I've been eyeing is the Microsoft Surface Book 2  15" with 1 TB of storage. The main thing with it I'm concerned about is the RAM, 16GB max. The Dell XPS 15 also looks promising, but I haven't looked into it very much. I'd like to hear what other people think of them and if anyone has any other suggestions please leave

Hi all,Having crazy issues with Premiere. When trying to preview footage from my HDD (should i move current footage to SSD?) it is very choppy unless I play through the footage few times. Hi all, I’m going to travel full time in a few months and I would like to be able to do what I do on my current desktop. I am a photographer and I sue Lightroom and Photoshop. Recently I started with video and will use premiere pro, but I have a limited budget and since I am going to backpack I need a light laptop. The perfect one would be something like the MSI PS42 8RB which has 16gb of RAM, an i7-8550u and a MX150 GPU or a Dell XPS 13 with the same specs (except for the GPU). Due to limited budget (and wanting to avoid carrying a +£1000 laptop) I would prefer something cheaper. Also the i5-8250u is only 20% slower so it should be enough. My issue is that all laptops will come with 8GB of ram, and the biggest issue is that we are talking about soldered RAM… So, what laptop would you recommend on the 13/14” size, up to 1.5kg with this CPU and that is possible to upgrade to 16gb? Or 8gb will work out?Thank you

Hi, im experiencing lots of stuttering on my Mac and I have no clue what's going on. Can't recall when the issues started, but it's for weeks, maybe months.Every 2 secs Premiere Pro stutters and it doesn't matter what I'm doing. It's stuttering during playback, during scrolling, during moving clips, during hovering over options, during writing something. Maybe important to mention these are .mp4 and h264 files. Over the past 9 years I have been travelling constantly and have used a Laptop for my video and photo editing.  I have now returned to a fixed home and I want to buy a desktop computer.  We live in a small town and there is excellent service from a local shop for Dell.Looking at the Dell website the OptiPlex 7060 tower looks good.But it is very confusing (computers are not my strong point.)  If anyone has a recommendation, that would be great!  I can do the customization to make it best for video editing, including a fair amount of 4K.  The only other main use is for photos, Lightroom and PhotoShop.Thank you!  Jim

Hey Guys,I currently have a laptop with an i7 7700hq, gtx1050ti, 8gb ram, and a 1tb HDD. The hard drive makes my computer pretty slow so I was thinking of getting a 1tb SSD in order to speed things up, and upgrading my ram to 32gb. I do quite a lot of 4k editing every week, as well as Photoshop, Lightroom, After Effects, and illustrator. My main problem is with premiere pro, as it is a nightmare to edit 4k with additional color grading and other effects. The playback is choppy, and the application often does the "program is not responding" or force quits. I set the playback at 1/8th resolution and is often still very very choppy. I was wondering if upgrading to an SSD and more ram would help. I'd prefer saving money and spending less money on 16gb of ddr4 ram, but I'm willing to spend more for 32gb if it will help out my workflow. Thanks
