Acrobat Reader

Why does Adobe Acrobat Reader shut down when I drag a tab / an open file off the ruler?I used to be able to do that, and upon doing so Acrobat Reader would open that file in another Acrobat Reader window AND keep the other file(s) open in the original Acrobat Reader window.Now when I do this Acrobat Reader shuts down. When I reopen it, it tells me it shut down suddenly and asks if I want to restore the files I had open.I often use this method to compare (2) PDF files side by side for design purposes.NOTE - I am using a Dell laptop running Windows 10, 64 bit. View attached video showing what happens.View video - Via Loom showing Acrobat Reader crashing when I drag a tab off the ruler 

I can see thumbnails but not TOC.  Please help.

OS : Windows Server 2008 R1 x86 | Citrix/Terminal ServicesOccurred : After upgrading from Reader 11.0.07 to 11.0.08This issue appears to be very similar to one experienced on Windows 2003 in 2011 (Article : http://blogs.adobe.com/dmcmahon/2011/11/08/acrobatreader-tmp-files-left-behind-in-temp-folder-after-printing/). Issue : When a user logs off, their roaming profile is normally deleted on the Citrix server. However, Adobe Reader s leaving a number of Z@R****.tmp files in Appdata\Local\Temp\<number>\ that are locked and cannot be deleted until the server is rebooted. This is preventing profiles from being deleted properly upon logoff.We have not made any .ini changes at this time as the issue appears to be a bug that was introduced when we installed .08.

Hi there. I really do not like the new Acrobat Reader DC. I would like the old version back. How do I find downloads to install the previous Adobe Reader?I seriously hate this new format.Thanks.

There are 2.8 GB of ARM files on my computer.  They are located in C:/ProgramData/Adobe/ARM/ and are in folders from previous versions (Reader_10.0.1, Reader_10.1.4, Reader_10.1.5, Reader_10.1.6, and Reader_10.1.7,).  I need the space (it's a 40GB drive with less than 2GB free space).  Can any or all of these files/folders be deleted?We are currently running Reader 10.1.7 and 2.7GB of the files mentioned above are in the folder "Reader_10.0.1"

Adobe Reader DC now allows the opening of multiple PDFs at a time. These then show in separate tabs.However, there does not seem to be any way to print all of the tabs. You can only print one document at a time.This functionality is available in Foxit Reader, but does not appear to be in Adobe Reader.Can anybody assist?ThanksCraig

Hello all, I purchased a Huion pen tablet to use with my MacBook Air Early 2015 (13-inch) mainly for drawing on PDF files during readings. It is a "Huion 420," which comes with the drawing pen "PEN68.” However, the tablet pen does not line up correctly on the PDF files (although it works on office and image files). It is even not possible to draw simple a line or circle, but I can do it using my trackpad without problems.I’m sharing a screenshot and a video, both showing what happens when I try to draw on a PDF. I will appreciate your help,Thank you

Hello dear community. I have the following problem with Adobe Reader. I would need a way to use a group policy in Adobe Reader to keep the option: Last used files generally set to 0 or disabled. I don't know why, but when the last documents are displayed, there are severe performance problems. Unfortunately, nothing has brought the desired success so far. on Windows 10 (build 1909) , (build 20H2)When open pdf file on chrome or edge with Acrobat Reader DC (2020.013.00074) and typing thai on field it not show text but in Internet explorer can show text ( see picture attach) Test on Windows 7 can show text in all browser (acrobat reader same version) How i can fix it. When trying to print certain PDFs that have been coverted from powerpoint to PDFs I am getting a flattening dialogue when printing. This dialogue takes forever and makes it nearly impossible to print. I only get this dialogue in Adobe Reader X and in other readers (like FoxIt for example) it doesn't happen. How do I fix this in Reader X so it doesn't happen?The process used to convert these from powerpoints is to go to save and send, create handout (which opens in word) and then save from Word to PDF.thanks in advance!

I recently installed Acrobat Reader DC and it won't launch.  I'm logged on as Administrator, I click on the icon to launch to program, it asks if I want to allow it to make changes to my computer, I say yes and -- nothing!What do I need to do to make this work?  A large number of my files are pdf and I need it to work!

Hello,I have Adobe Acrobat reader installed on a server that a few users use when they are connected to it.  This is the free pdf reader version, why does it keep asking my users to sign in to view a pdf when it's free?  If they click cancel on the sign in prompt, it closes the application.  The server is updated to the latest patches, and are running on 2019.  I saw posts come up from last year with no solution, is this still an issue with no solution??Thanks.

The latest variant of Acrobat Reader has an incredibly cosmically stupid UI. A lot of useful operations a very well hidden. I spent a lot of time trying to figure out how to find a document's propeties. Finally ChatGPT offered the solution: CTRL+D. I wanted to change the color and the size of the drawing tool. No way to find those options. Again ChatGPT helped: CTRL+E. How did these morons manage to hide the app's functioanlity so well?

After updating to Mac OS Monterey and Acrobat Pro DC (2021.011) the previous shortcut to toggle between files on the swiss keyboard (cmd + <) is not working anymore. I tried to find the possibility to alter the shortcuts on my keyboard in the program. but even that option I cannot find anymore.

lets face it acrobat reader is just not made for windows. at best it is a port for windows that has been updated since the 90's, like an onion with a lot.. lot of layers. there are even artifacts in adobe reader left over from that era in computing and reader still can not properly update a newly added printer to the system. you have to close the program and reboot/restart? the program. most offices use windows and not and apple or a macintosh, so why are we still useing a fancy windows wrapper? its been 30 years, can we get a propper program written on windows to function on windows from the ground up?

I fresh installed Windows 10 and then added the new version of Adobe Reader with thumbnail handler as usual. However, this new version does NOT generate thumbnails for PDF in Windows explorer anymore. I tried to go back to older version of Reader, but it wouldn't let me (the installer file is blocked to get older version and is redirected to the newest version after which the installer for older version gets self-deleted). Please fix this or something (or let me go back to the older version). It is insane to have to look at the file by file name and trying to figure what I am looking for (it gets extremely difficult to read by file name hen tehr are over hundred files in my difrectory). 😞

 Whenever I convert a Word document to PDF using Acrobat, and the document has tracked changes enabled, the resulting PDF includes formatting actions. I need the converted PDF to be generated without any formatting actions.

Adobe Acrobat ProWindows 11 EnterpriseMicrosoft Office(I'll supply version numbers when I can, but it's safe to assume that it's the latest available version of everything. )  I'm a Tier 1 tech working for a county government and I'm having trouble with a certain machine in the clerks department.  This started with another issue with her PDFs of scanned pages saving just fine, but upon opening the file afterwards some of the pages in the file would be enlarged 1.5x the size of the original scanned pages.  The problem occurred spontaneously and was caused by a corrupt profile.  While I was troubleshooting the problem, however, I uninstalled and reinstalled adobe which caused this error to begin. Whenever she tries to share a PDF from Adobe through outlook, we get the error message "An Error Occurred While Sending Mail."  Of course she can still get her work done by attaching the pdf to the message via outlook, but I need recommendations anyhow.  M

When opening two tabs in Acrobat Reader, and when dragging one of the tabs to another screen, Acrobat is closing by itself, what can we do to resolve this error?This problem is only happening in version 2024.005.20320, in previous versions, we are able to drag normally.

Hello everyone, I'm having some issues with Acrobat Reader. If I open 2 PDFs on the same window and the try to separate them in 2 different windows, Adobe keeps crashing. Did anyone else had this issue ?  Thanks, Thomas
