Hi All, Posting here on behalf of a colleague, their icons for pdfs have updated this morning and are now just a white outline, they have dragged a file to their desktop to capture the attached screenshot. Last week it was the regular white and red icon with the Adobe logo, does anyone know why this has changed or how to change it back? Thanks in advance
I am trying to make the Adobe Acrobat plugin for Google Chrome the default PDF viewer when opening PDF's in Chrome. I've already got the Chrome setting set to "Open PDFs in Chrome" but specifically, I want to use the Adobe Acrobat extension and NOT the built in Chrome PDF viewer. Does anyone know of a way to do this?
hello community 🙂I would like to change a parameter in acrobat reader version. 2024.003.20180 do you have an address to download recent admx? Do you think it is possible to deactivate the new interface (version) of Acrobat Reader via these admx? it's annoying, it freezes a lot with the new version, we have to push : Désactivate the new version of A R a big thank you
Hi All!I teach math at college level, and create most of my material with LaTeX -> ... -> pdf. LaTeX has a package that allows me to insert links to other parts of the same document. For example, when my text refers to an earlier Example or a Theorem, I can make that reference clickable. Those clickable links still work, but for the life of me I can no longer find the back button! Imagine I'm lecturing, and I get the vibe that students need to see what exactly Theorem 3.47 said. I can click that all right, but I obviously want to then continue from where I was.I used to have a pdf reader (most likely from Adobe) that let me do exactly that. How is this done with the current version? I would gladly tell you the version number, but I cannot locate the "About" item from its menus.Cheers,Jyrki
While I was working on something, keyboard presses were completely normal but then my kitten walked across my keyboard and now... Ctrl zooms out.Enter scrolls down.Shift scrolls up. Nothing else is being pressed or used in conjunction with these buttom presses. Did my kitten press a function key that messed everything up?
Adobe Reader "Reading the File..." delays under Windows 11 with 64 GB Sdram installedand a setting of the Maximum Cache Size to 20000 MB, should not occur. However these delays occur repeatedly and it does not appear as ifAdobe Reader ever allocates any more than around 2 GB of Sdram for itself, according to Windows Task Manager. Most of my PDF files are on an external USB HDD and I assume that Windows 11is correctly turning off the HDD when it is idle.Adobe Reader is precipitating these delays and causing the External HDDto be turned on regularly and wastefully because Adobe Reader is notmaintaining a complete copy of each PDF file in the 64GB of Memory.(maybe 8 files at a time, many of which are 100MB to 300MB long.)Adobe Reader should implement a Memory Display feature, to displayexactly how much memory it has allocated from Windows 11,and how that memory is distributed between the PDFs which are open.
Dears,I have noticed for the last 14 days or so that PDF files open very slowly on my computer, so that if I click twice on a file that is saved on OneDrive, it opens in about 15-20 seconds. The problem is the same when the file is placed on the desktop or anywhere else.I don't have this problem on another PC.What could it be, how can I fix this problem? This is a very annoying issue when dealing with a PC in an office where PDF files are worked with constantly and over and over again on a daily basis.Thank you.
Merci.
How do I return to a free Adobe Reader account? It seemed I had to purchase an Adobe account in order to convert a pdf to a Word text, but I have never had to do this before in nearly 30 years of academic research, and I don't foresee having to do it again. So--I want to cancel that account (still w/in 14 days), and return to an Adobe Free reader account. How do I do that? I'm trying to cancel the "Export" account, so that I get reimbursed for the $24.9X and do NOT get charged every year for a service I will not use. I'm retired now, and I can't afford to have recurring payments like this pile up on me. -- HELP. Wendy L. Johnson
I just purchased Adobe Acrobat Pro for working at home. And every FEW minutes when I am in a PDF document I keep getting this error message, "Acrobat Collaboraiton Synchronizer 24.1 has stopped working" and I am prompted to "Close the Program" which I do but it keeps popping up every FEW minutes and it's seriously annoying. I've read all the posts and cannot find where to turn this thing off for good. I don't need any cloud backup or to synch any of my PDF files over any other devices. I just use my desktop PC. Can someone help? I am pulling my hair out as its constantly interfering with my ability to get work done.
I would like to use the signature pad for pdf files which are opened with Acrobat Reader. At the moment I use the signPro app from Wacom and this works. But the preview is very small so I would like to know whether there is a way to sign direcctly in Adobe Reader using the Wacom tablet.
Sometimes when opening a PDF document from an email the Page Thumbnails panel will be open with the previews. I do not want this to occur when opening a document. I have version 2022.003.20314 if that is helpful.
I have a form that I am trying to create that will be used by ~100 employees. It has 27 fields, but not will be filled in each time. There are 20 text fields, and 7 drop downs. I have figured out how to set the text-fields to 'Read Only' when a box is checked, but all of the Drop-Downs can still be selected and edited by the person who needs to sign it. How can I get my form to ONLY have the Signature line as an available option for the signatory? Requiring each employee to go through and manually change each drop down every time it is used is not an option. Thanks!
My pdf windows with parts outside the screen, so like I can't see the minimise, maximise, close tabs; I also can't see the File, Edit, View, Window.... tabs. I can still access the tabs with the keyboard but I would like the window to open so I don't have to resize the windows all the time. I tried looking through the options in edit>perferences but can't find the related option. Is there a way make it so that the windows open inside the screen?
Apologies if this is the wrong forum. I have a number of documents that are created in Word and exported to PDF, then hosted/viewed online. I have no trouble creating the document outline in Reader (online and offline) by using Word's heading styles, but I'm wondering how to force a PDF to show that outline by default (the default in Reader and most browsers seems to be that it's toggled off). I have found other PDFs online that have this function, so I know it's possible, but I can't seem to find documentation on how. Thanks!
My printer is working, but I can't print from Adobe Reader. When I try to print something from Adobe Reader, the print queue comes up empty.
Suddenly, my desktop Adobe isn't allowing printing slide formatted handouts from a powerpoint. Never had this problem before. Any solutions?
I'm marking up a PDF and can't find the callout box option in either the mobile version or the web version of Acrobat Reader. I'm thinking of the text box with an arrow that you can add to the PDF with a comment inside.Has this been removed?
I can open Reader DC in 64-bit Win 10 only with Admin privilege, otherwise get "Acrobat failed to open its core dll" message. Same message when clicking on a .pdf file (but it does work if I open with MS Edge). Also, MS files can save as .pdf despite the same error message which appears after saving. I've tried repair, clear and re-install, and changing security permissions; any suggestions about what next?(2 other similarly configured PCs, with different hardware, work fine).
I want to open documents WITHOUT thumbnails always appearing on the left side. Is this possible? I've checked preferences and I cannot find where to enable/disable thumbnail view. I don't want to have to X out of the thumbnail view for every doc.
We own a couple of dozen Adobe standard DC licenses and have them all registered through our IT department. Only downside is the sync functionally enabling any of user end users to see what others are working on or use their signatures. How do we prevent our end users from seeing what others are working on and take away their ability to sign documents using another's signature. There has to be an easy way to turn off this sync functionality. The only option in Adobe online services is to sync preferences across all devices even with that unchecked it still pulls in the documents. Please helpDrew Parker
Hello,After two days of work adding comments, they are all lost. Please help!
Hi All, I'm having an issue printing eBay shipping labels with U.S. Postal Service barcodes on my Zebra LP-2844Z thermal printer. I'm seeing jagged edges, or horizontal spikes coming out of the main vertical barcode lines. It looks perfect when viewing it in Reader, but printing to the 203DPI Zebra printer it looks less than optimal. The barcode in the PDF appears to be an image, not a vector object. Not sure if that matters.I am not using "Print As Image" and printing at Actual Size, or 100%. Using "Print As Image" degrades the quality of the entire label. I don't think there's a printer driver problem, because other PDF reader software (like Foxit) can print the barcodes perfectly, as straight, smooth lines, as would be expected. I tested this on Adobe Reader DC v023.008.20555 in both Windows 7 and WIndows 10, and it prints exactly the same in both OS's. Please see attached images. Oddly enough, both barcode images below scanned successfully a
