Our business is the manufacture of a 10-place turbo-prop aircraft. Our QC Inspectors use stamps(FAA required) to sign-off inspections. Each inspector has a unique stamp (five different shapes which indicate structures, systems, in-process, final and specialty authorizations) containing a number specific to an individual. I'm envisioning the Courses would contain the required modules to gain the authorization for each particular type of stamp. I'm not sure how Captivate would manage the individual number inside the stamp.Currently we are maintaining this in a mostly NOT user-friendly Access database. Much of which is still very manual.
Are there any social features within the courses? Besides the badges (which are great!)Specifically, is there a way for a learner to post a question or comment for the instructor and/or other learners related to each course? Can the instructor/ other learners respond openly?
Has anyone tried to publish a Lectora 16 course (SCORM 1.2)? I published a course and it didn't open. It appeared the content object was in the background, but the page was white.
I have both internal users and external users at partner companies. I'd like my partner company users to see branding that is specific to their companies, not mine. Is this possible based on the user or user group?
Hi, I am evaluating Prime for a client and am uploading an HTML5 course in Prime. The course was created in Captivate.See here: https://captivateprime.adobe.com/app/learner?accountId=9509#/course/65155The course works fine locally, but once in Prime it keeps zooming with each sequential slide. Can you please review and let me know if this is a known bug and what I need to do to fix.Thanks,Adamadam.crutchfield@gmail.com
We have a number of companies that resale our courses on their own LMS. For the most part, they work fine as published with very little issues. But one of our larger customers is having issues. When they try to play our courses they get an error stating that the "request header size is too big." More specifically, they said: "This error occurs when request header for suspend data sends a parameter that exceeds 5500 characters. The increase in request header size can increase potential of security threats."Now, I am not entirely sure what a request header is. Is that the address that displays in a browser when the course is recalled? More importantly, does anyone know if this is something we can control through Captivate? Or is that something their system creates and the error is because their server or something is set to block the long domain? The customer doesn't seem to know or, at least, seems to think it is something I need to change on our course. Any thoughts would be appreciate
I am exploring the various options of adding content to a course. I am trying to determine something about the Test Out feature in the course builder. If I add test modules to the test-out section, does a learner have to complete these in order to pass the course? I realize the point is to circumvent the normal content, if desired. However, ideally, I want it so even if the user does take all the normal content, they still have to take the test out modules, in order to pass the course. Is this the case, or does completing the normal content, then circumvent the test out modules?
Hi. I am working to create a learning program for two recently created courses inside Prime. These courses are completely built, published, and have learners assigned to them. The default catalog will not display these courses. So, I created a new catalog, but the UI to create a new learning plan will not recognize either the new catalog, or the courses.Does anyone know why this is, and what I can do?Thanks,Paul
How can i add a quiz or normal content like a text page and a quiz?Thank you!
I just signed up with a Captivate Prime trial account to test if this is a platform that might meet our LMS needs. Unfortunately I'm finding myself stymied out of the gate. I've added a SCORM package that already exists for our content to the system as a module, and created a course featuring just that module. When I started the course it opened and behaved more or less as expected (there were unexplained changes to the UI). But when I quit the module after a few pages to check on the effectiveness of tracking, I was dismayed to find that on relaunching the module none of my progress had been saved.I did some further digging to try to look at results for the module as an admin and got a message that, "The interaction data is not set for this content." OK, that's something. What is interaction data and how do I set it?Thanks.
I'm an idiot. I can't even locate the place to log in and add my course. Watched the videos, but must be stupid. I did recently have a concussion and brain bleed, so.. No, really! Thanks.
The quiz analyzer doesn’t appear to be functioning correctly. I took a practice quiz and answered 5 questions correctly. For some reason the quiz report (attached), shows that all 5 questions were skipped.
Is there anyway we can deem areas of a slide to be “no click” zones? When testing a quiz, if I clicked on a “submit” button before answering a question, the quiz function essentially stopped working altogether.
How can quiz answers be formatted so the height of the text and gaps between the answers are the same? I need to be able to format answers like this in order to add on the “shuffle answers” option.
I'm trailing Prime hence posting a few questions as I continue to find issues/queries.I hope You Captivate guys are on the ball as these need to be cleared before we can make a purchasing decision. Now, I'm attempting to create a Learning Plan so that new learners within a custom group get automatically assigned to a course. The system is reporting that 'No matching courses can be found'. Can anyone advise if they have seen this and how to resolve it?I have a couple of published courses.
HI,i manage a small training company. We plan to include learning to our training products.I sent email to mailto:captivateprimesales@adobe.com asking questions but received no reply. I believe the email is generic nature and not regularly read by the organisation, although it was provided by Adobe on its website and forums to use for specific company related questions. I never received acknowledge email too. Just abloute silence. Keep in mind that I am Adobe creative cloud user for over two years and have been using Adobe products for the last 10 years including captivate products. Anyways, what is the best way to contact Adobe for questions on number of users etc..that we want specific answers befor signing up for Adobe captivate prime?thanks for the help.senait
First, when I attempt to upload from Adobe Captivate 9 to Prime, I do not enter into the Module section describe in the video Adobe Captivate Prime: Publish Modules from Adobe Captivate 9 - YouTube, and do not have the opportunity to Publish. the Module. What I am doing wrong?Second when I attempt to upload the Adobe Captivate 9 content manually from a zip file, the content does not play, it just spins.
Sorry, you may have not seen my response to another person's post, but I have concerns about the way Prime handles adding new modules to an existing course. It would be very, very common to have to add modules to an existing course as the course grows. I'd like to know how this "retire the course" is going to effect scoring and history, etc. See below..."How strange. I had the same issue, found it very hard to figure out how to add a module to an existing course. This is something that could happen a lot, so my question is. If I have to duplicate the course, and then retire the "old" course, do I have to 1) Reassign the course to the people who need to take it, and 2) Will the lesson's results be transferred over (i.e. people who have already taken the existing lessons in the course.) I find this very messy and strange. Can you provide a little more information about it?"Thanks
How to add a course to a current certification
I've drafted two quiz projects in Cap 8 and uploaded them to Captivate Prime. I am testing the system to see what I can do with the combination of both products. How do I set things up so that a user can re-take a quiz after they've failed it? During my testing, I've just blown through the quiz questions making random answers so I never get a passing score. When I go back in, I find myself on the final slide of the quiz. Obviously, the LMS is restoring the quiz to the condition it was in when I left it the first time. How do I change that so my users can retake an exam any time they wish, or maybe, just after they've failed it and need to achieve a passing score? This is not my first experience with an authoring system and an LMS. It IS my first time trying to do this with Captivate and Captivate Prime. Thanks,Pete
I have created a bunch of users and after the fact would like to change the profile information for reporting convenience. It looks like changes to existing users is related to changing their role from learner to Author, etc, or deleting them. What do you do to edit the name or profile fields? What if you misspell someone's name?
Does Captivate Prime collect and report individual question data for reporting and analysis? I would need to be able to report numbers describing each question in a quiz and how many users selected each possible answer. I also need to be able to report for any user, exactly how they answered each question in a certification exam. I am still looking for anything in the documentation that addresses this requirement but haven't found anything yet. And now that we have a forum, thought I'd post this question.Pete
I've been unable to get Captivate Prime to record data from a simple M/C quiz built with Captivate 8. To ensure the problem isn't with my quiz, I'm working through all of the help files to make sure everything is set up correctly. The help files say that I have to configure the manifest file using the Manifest dialog, which is available through the Quiz>Preferences dialog. What are the required settings for SCORM 1.2 or SCORM 2004?Or perhaps a better question might be: Is Captivate Prime a SCORM 1.2 or SCORM2004 based LMS?Thanks,Pete
Hello, I am thinking about using Cap Prime as my LMS for my Captivate projects. However, when I put my recent project up, the TOC did not work and neither did the glossary widget. The option for the TOC did not show up on the screen. The glossary widget button was visible, but when it is clicked all you see is the X I created to give the learner the option to close it. The reason I wanted to use Prime is because Cap opens really fast on that site as compared to the LMS I was using. However, on the other site the TOC and the glossary widget worked. How do I fix this? Thanks. Tricia
We came up with our own workaround to get video to work on prime finally have succeeded. One step forward and two steps back though. We want to use iPads for training. Our module plays fine, however the iPad screen cuts off the right side of the image. The module was set up for ipad. Does anyone have a fix? What needs to change in Captivate 9 to make it work? We have two weeks before our company shuts down our department for failure to get anything to work. Are there any freelancers out there that we can hire to get us up and running on this? We would love to speak with you.
