Please can adobe fix this, one of the main reasons I’ve been putting off updating to the latest versions of adobe apps is the fact that it takes much longer to do basic tasks. On the left is media encoder 2022, on the right is media encoder 2023. Why should I have to drag the windows down just to access my custom presets in 2024. Its awkward. 2022 just works. (see video) Another example. On my laptop media encoder 2024 has bad scaling issues, the network drives just don’t fit the screen, yes I have messed about with windows setting to try and fix this. We are a digital signage company that builds “custom TV channels” for our end clientsThese channels play on displays in their locations we remotely manageAs part of this we procure video files (with attached audio tracks, from different sources and put them into these channelsThe audio for these are all over the mapWe need to be able to normalize all the files that will be in a given “channel” at the same time.We have used “DDVideo HD Converter Gain” for the last ~10 years, but the company is now defunctThis program allowed us to “batch” all the different files into a “project”, and it returned all the different files with the “audio normalized” (video is untouched)NOTE: The “batching” requirement is a must have; upload all files at once and have them returned with the audio normalizedBefore doing a lot of testing, can Media Encoder do this?
Hello Just updated my OS to Ventura 13.0... and what a surprise that you can't even launch Media Encoder... I tried uninstall and re-install: same failure. Thankfully Premiere is still working! But still, a pretty let down! Adobe, please fix this ASAP! [Subject edited by moderator to clarify issue]
I've got a situation where I have hundreds of assets that get split up into lots of different resolutions for delivery for an interactive thing. I also need to provide proxies at 1/10 reoslution. Is there a way for me to set AME to scale by percentage rather than pixels? This would allow me to dump files in as a batch rather than creating proxy presets for every resolution type. For example, 3 my Final Renders are:3840x2502160x2501920x250 My "proxy" renders are 10% the scale:384x25216x25192x25 Normally, I'd use something like FFMPEG to do this, but the delivery codec is NotchLC and is not supported. Ideally, I drop my final renders into a preset and it will export proxies that are proprotionally scaled at 10% based on their relative resolution(s). Any ideas?
I am trying to export a video, (either in Premiere pro 24 or Media encoder 24, cropping the top and bottom of the video to lose the black crop from the top and bottom of frame. There used to be a legacy custom crop facility in Media manager but it has been rempoved. I've trawled the net trying to find the answer...no joy. HELP
Most recent Media Encoder AI will not load. Sometimes it takes 5 or 6 tries before it will load. Each time I receive "The program is not responding". I have uninstalled and reinstalled and still, the problem exists. I have uninstalled ME AI and reverted to the non-AI version and still, "The program is not responding". Watching it load it stops on various commands so I can not pinpoint the specific instruction. When I can get it to run the Dynamic Link function seems to take forever and sometimes the program will freeze. I have the latest Windows 10 update (12/12/2023). I am running 32GB RAM on a 1TB M.2 drive. Intel Core i9-9900K CPU @ 3.60GHz. Internet connection CAT6 1GB fiber Internet. My graphics card is an MSI RTX 3060 Ventus 3X 12GB OC. This has been happening fairly regularly since Windows 10 update in late November or early December 2023. Is anyone else experiencing this challenge? Premier, Audition, & Photoshop (all AI versions) run without a problem.
I was rendering Animated Gifs without any issues, and then all of a sudden they are rendering twice when using Media Encoder. I was first redering from Premiere and my first version of the gif came out fine. I made some small edits on the timeline and then rendered again. Now for some reason when it renders, the Gif has the video twice. I checked the timeline and the output settings in Media Encoder, but I can't see any settings i may have accidently changed. As a test, I went to After Effects and created a simple 10 second comp with text moving around. When I rendered to an Animated Gif again, I still get the same issue. So this tells me that it is somthing to do with Media Encoder. All of my Adobe Apps are updated to 2023 latests. Are there any settings i am missing that is causing this? The attached files were my work-in-progress renders I made:Ships v01.gif: Is the first WIP test I did and rendered fineShips v02.gif: Is what is happening now (I edited the video a bit
Media Encoder hangs when encoding ProRes LT that has been sent to it from Premiere. I've never had a problem before I got the Studio Ultra. My previous system was a 2017 iMac. It'll encode for a few minutes then stop and the "remaining time" indicator ticks up into the hours. ME doesn't freeze, it just hangs up. Mac StudioM2 Ultra64GB
Hi guys, I am currently trying to write a script in vscode using the ExtendScript extension. I have successfully connected to AME, confirmed by sending through an alert. Every time I try to run the sample code from this guide: https://ame-scripting.docsforadobe.dev/guide/index.html I am getting an error in my code , see the picture attached. I am posting here hoping someone can push me in the right direction.AME Version 22.1.1 (Build 25)Windows 11 22H2
Whenever I batch export sequences from Premiere through Media Encoder, the defeault source range is always "custom". It doesn't matter how many times I manually change it to "entire sequence". There are no selections on my timeline, nothing is highlighted, I have zero in/out points. Is there a way to set the default source range to "entire sequence" or am I going to be stuck doing this manually forever?
Hi, I experience a slow exporting or rendering in Adobe Media Encoder after i update it to 2023.when i render the After effects project to Media Encoder it takes hours or more to be done, but when i render it in After effects it only takes minutes.I didn't experience this kind of issue in version 2021 of Adobe Media Encoder.
Over 5min in to rendering a 11min clip in 1080 and not even 10% of the way through... EXTREMELY slow renderring. Both AME & in Premiere using the latest versions.... (unable to share files unfortunately)

Hi guys, i use after effects cc 2021 but recently i accidentally unstalled my media encoder cc 2021. So i tried to look up on my creative cloud the same version and i couldn't find it, now i cant render my videos with media encoder because the (2023,2022) versions don't work How can i solve this? Thanks.
Another problem in this long list of Media Encoder Issues.I have been trying for hours to render a Premiere Pro project which has multiple After FX dynamic links (intro, lower thirds, outtro etc.). I'm on Windows 11, Dell XPS 8940, Intel i9-10900 3.70 GHz, latest version of all apps, NVidia GForce RTX 2060 graphics, fast SSD drives and 32 Gb of RAM.The sequence won't render from AME (or direct from PP for that matter) and stops on the first frame (as far as I can tell) after the openning After FX intro.I tried everything - Playback engine settings in all types, replacing video files, updating drivers, uninstalling and reinstalling the software, clearinbg caches, swapping drives, removing effects, rendering to a different drives, disabling parallel encoding and I even sang a Christmas song to Adobe Premiere in 5 different languages. All to no avail UNTIL...I pre-rendered the After FX intro to a QuickTime file (it has to have an alpha channel at the end) and boom, it worked. So on the hand
All apps are all updated 2020 versions. All apps are installed in the same folder.Premiere Pro CC 2020 will not queue media to AME through File -> Export -> Media -> QueueAfter Effects CC 2020 will not connect with AME when rendering through AMEPP and AE also cannot communicate when I replace media with AE composition. Possible cause of problem:Deleted creative cloud apps folders from C drive then moved default installation to my other drive. All apps installed fine and are all working except for dynamic link. I have tried the following:Uninstalled all apps again - Did not workUninstalled AME then reinstalled - Did not work Temporary workaround:In AME I did:File -> Add Premiere Pro Sequence/AE Composition and AME successfully added them to the queue. Thoughts? Should I do a clean installation of the entire creative cloud app? How do I do that?
My System:Windows 11i9 13900K (24 core)128 Gigs of RAM (4000+ hz)EVGA FTW 3090 (24 Gig VRAM)M.2 across the board (working/rendering on separate drives)My Issue:I'm rendering a high-settings video (60 VRB, 2 pass at 4K). Yes, this is a lot, but my machine should handle it. Yet, while rendering on software only, my machine is using only 15 to 20 percent CPU and no GPU. When I switch to GPU acceleration, I'm still using roughly 15 eprcent CPU, but only 10 to 15 percent GPU.What's wrong here, and how do I fix it?Thank you so much.
I would like to Save/Export my Media Encoder custom workspace to an external file so that in the case of a catastrophic crash, I can restore/import the custom workspace and be back up and running faster. Is this possible?
I have the latest version of Adobe media encoder installed and have had the same problem for over a year now. I do a lot of computer screen recordings that do not have a video camera feed and or just presentation based. No matter what CBR settings I I try in Adobe media encoder, the final export always seems to be variable and significantly lower than the chosen data rate. If I use CBR for a video camera recording, the output is still variable according to media info but the data rate is a lot closer to what I choose in Adobe media encoder. I feel like I Adobe media encoder is still doing some variable bit rate analysis to screen based only recordings for some reason. Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
When exporting from Premiere (23.4.0) to Encoder (23.5) the exported files don't use each sequence name but keep on using the same name of an old sequence (that was exported in the past). Any idea why this happens (it happens in -at least- a couple of projects), am I missing something?.
I am rendering a GIF out of After Effects, it hangs when it gets to the very end. Weirdly it still plays the file even if I stopped it in the encoder. But I feel like this would somehow corrupt the file. (I'm not super technical I'm more of an artworker, so may be wrong). FYI MP4 worked, it was the Animated GIF that caused an issue. Can anyone suggest a solution please?
Hi,Since updating to Media Encoder 23.5 I'm having trouble connecting to Dynamic Link server.I tried everything I could find in this community but nothing seems to solve the issue.Uninstalling and downgrading ME and AE, resetting and deleting cache and preference files, checking and unchecking different settings in AE... I'm running ME 23.6 right now on an Apple iMac running macOS Venturea 13.5.1I also have to manually drop my comps into ME for them to show up in the list.Using 'File > Export > Export To Media Encoder Queue' doesn't do anything. Same for the workaround by adding the composition to AE Render Queue and clicking 'Queue in AME'.I didn't have these issues before 23.5 but downgrading to 23.4 doesn't help either.Hope someone has a solution here...
I have 1000s of video files with stereo-audio.Now I need to merge each of these files with a new wav-file with 5.1 surround-audio track. These files have same name as the original file with an extension.Output should be the original video file with stereo-audio (audio channel 1-2) + 5.1 surround (audio channel 3-8).Is it possible to batch this workflow in Adobe Media Encoder? As an alternative, I will need to transcode the original files with stereo-audio to files with 8 channel audio where the original stereo-audio will be mapped to audio channel 1-2. The empty channels 3-8 will be filled out by the software which create the new 5.1 surround mix.
Hello, Premiere ExtendScript API has an API to use AME to render a sequence from a project - app.encoder.encodeFile(filePath, outputPath, presetPath, workArea, removeUponCompletion). As its fourth parameter, it takes a "workArea" which can be ENCODE_IN_TO_OUT, meaning the AME should render the part that is between the in and out points set on the sequence in the Premiere project. This in and out point of the sequence is also automatically honoured when dropping the prproj file to a watch folder that AME is configured to watch. Now I am looking for a similar option in the AME ExtendScript API - app.getExporter().exportItem(source, destination, preset). But I could not find it. As a result, the sequence in my prproj file is being rendered in full instead of only the part between in and out points.I noticed a different method (exportSequence) which accepts leadingFramesToTrim/trailingFramesToTrim but it does not look like there is any easy way to get those frame numbers from
Hello!I am having an issue with one of my videos not rendering correctly. For instance in Preimer Pro it looks fine:Then when it starts to render and completes:I am not sure what is going on. The original recorded video is just fine from what I can tell. Same scene from the unedited video. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I have no clue how to fix this. Further more the clips I add for the opening and closing render just fine, so its narrowed down to just the edited video part...I hope I am making sense. Anyways thanks for the help in advance.
