Adobe Media Encoder

Since upgrading to Media Encoder CC 2018 a few days ago I am having major problems rendering files I could render perfectly before the upgrade. These are simple compositions created in After Effects (also upgraded at the same time). They are only 10 to 15 seconds long, use no plugins or special effects. Before upgrading they would render from Media Encoder in a matter of seconds / minutes, and the rendering would start immediately. Since upgrading they frequently take 5 minutes to begin rendering, often complete but with errors, and more often than not I get a 'Cannot read from source' error, or Media Encoder just hangs and nothing happens. The files work fine and play perfectly in After Effects, and will render with no issues or errors from there. Prior to updating the software a few days ago I never had this issue.Changing the renderer - Mercury Playback Engine GPU Acceleration (OpenCL) / (Metal) / Software only - makes no difference.I'm using a MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2014

Just since yesterday, sequences I'm exporting from Premiere Pro CC using the queue aren't appearing in Media Encoder. Both apps are updated to the most recent versions - 2017.1.2 - and I'm running OS 10.10.5 on my iMac.I've been able to successfully export a single sequence, but not able to export to the queue. !That's a problem, since I've got a dozen short videos to turn around quickly.Anything I might be missing?

In the past two weeks I've been getting warnings from my Mac Pro saying my SSD is nearly full. As I type, I have 1.24MB of a 250GB drive left.  That's not a typo.  I've tracked it down to the Adobe Media Encoder Log.txt file. It's twice grown to over 125GB. This time it's 146.62GB.The first 60 lines or so of the file look like this...The rest of the file is full of Ticks that look just like this over and over again.I would upload the file, so you could see but obviously it's too big.I've had to delete the file just to keep my system running but I'm sure, at this point, that it will be back within the week.How can I stop this from happening?

AME is crashing when I select the option of DnxHr in export settings. Help?

So, I'm trying to convert some .mpg files in an attempt to shrink them (they're uncompressed, and MASSIVE), and am using Media Encoder to do so. However, whenever I do so, it always, without fail, turns the video into a mess.It appears that every other frame has been taken from some other point in the video. I have no idea why this is happening, but whenever I play the original file normally, it plays as normal. Input file is 720x568, 1.0940 Pixel Ratio, Progressive, and the extension is .mpg. I have tried exporting as .mp4, .avi, .m2v, ​and .mpg, and even then it still gives me chaos. This is also a fresh install of CC 2018.

Hi,I really like media encoder for DVD encoding, but I haven't been able to use it on projects with closed captions yet.As when I import a media encoder encode into Sonic Scenarist authoring software the import .scc file option is dimmed out.It's like media encoder strip away or masks line21 in the video. I've tried setiing up in premiere and laying the .scc file on topof the video track but the best I have been able to do so far is get the captions to display, but the "turn captionsoff" option doesn't work.Anyone have any ideas on encoder setting and/or workflow?Thanks much!Dan

Hi there, I just installed Adobe Media Encoder 2017, but when I went to open it I got this message:C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\MSVCR110.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error/ Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support. Error status 0xc000012f. I've already tried re-installing but it won't work. Can anyone help?

I am very new to After Effects and I usually just render videos with AME using H.264 setting. I can't find a preset for "Apple ProRes" and I was wondering if anyone could tell me what settings to use, please.

I have been editing a project for several weeks, and every time I would export a file from after effects, I would export it to the media encoder. There, I would start the queue. Afterwards, I would click on the blue hyperlink below "output file", and all my videos would be there. Then I would simply drag the video to adobe premiere. Today, my computer updated on its own. Afterwards, when I opened adobe premiere, it told me all the files that I had brought into the project that way were gone. I now realize that file with all the videos may have been a temp file. Please, is there any way I can retrieve these files? I have poured my soul into filming these clips for my movie for the past year, and then editing them, and now they're gone. If anyone knows where they may be on my computer, or how to retrieve them, I would be so incredibly thankful. Thank you for your time.

On export from Premiere CC 2017 (June) I am getting a strange black line on the right side of the screen with the occasional white flash when I export at MPEG-2 DVD. Even if I use fill it still has the line. This never happened in previous versions of Premiere or AME. I have been having to export as MPEG-2 Blu-Ray and then re-convert back to DVD. Any ideas what would cause this? Thanks.

As in the thread title... Media Encoder is not using the anything like the twelve cores of the 2013 Mac Pro I have on my desk. In fact much slower than my home iMac etc.Activity monitor shows about 118% of use with the CPU sitting pretty idle.Anyone got any ideas? Kinda sucks to have a twelve core machine that Adobe can't take advantage of.....

I use AME on several different PCs and one produces extremely long render times.  That one also shows very low CPU usage when encoding via AME.For example, a project on one machine (i9 7900x) has a render time of about 40 minutes and CPU usage of 75% - 85%.  The exact same project on an i7 6800k uses only about 11% CPU and the render time is about 3 hr.Of course, the two machines have different numbers of cores and different graphics cards, so that will affect the render time.  But why does the one machine use only 11% CPU while the other uses over 75%?  Certainly that fact also has a major impact on the render time.The fact that the CPU usages are so different seems to indicate that something is not configured properly in the machine that is using only 11% CPU.  Both are using the latest version of AME and both have all the same options selected in AME.Thanks,rgames

My PC is 64GB RAM, i7 processor and MSI Computer Video Graphics Card GTX 980TI GAMING 6GWhen I'm rendering out of encoder I can't get more than 11.8GB of Memory usage (even when nothing else is running and I have 60 GB dedicated to it) Additionally when playing back some 4k footage in premiere, it gets very laggy to the point I really can't edit. I just ran a system optimizer and all that good stuff. Any suggestions?

Hello, First post so apologies if I am in the wrong section.I am trying to export a sequence from premier pro through the media encoder.for my project I am required to produce a 720p, 25fps h.264 .mov  however when selecting the format "Quicktime"  there is no drop down in the codec options to allow for H.264 compression.Under format I have attempted selecting a preset that matches the above settings but I receive the error message "incompatible video codec found in the preset"I am using a new laptop (around 2 weeks old) on the windows 7 osThanks for your help!

This is a multi Application question (PPRO and AME).I need your help. I'm making a video in HD that my client would also like to show on Comcast Public Access (which uses SD). What I would like to do is make a new PPRO project for the SD format:1. How do I set up a file for this in PPROInstead of black bars, I'm going to make some art in Illustrator that adds a blue background with a dark, short gradient top and bottom where the black bars would be. I'm making that file 720x480. No question here, just wanted you to know. This graphic will be the background for the HD video that will go on top of it. Next, I want to bring my HD video into this new SD project and center it top to bottom. 2a. Should I just import the HD PPRO project into the SD project?2b. Should I render the HD project as some file type (what should it be) and import that into the SD project file? 3. What settings should I select when exporting through AME and do I need to install an export profile for it? Thank you very

Hi, I recently installed the trial of premiere for CC 2017 and Media encoder CC 2017, but I do not have the h265 in export options, I read is available since CC 2015.1

I can't seem to see an option to convert audio files to 320kbps mp3

Can you make premiere use an older version of media encoder? Using PRCC18 latest version, I'd prefer to use MECC17 to encode.Thanks

I was given a video (.mp4 file, mpeg4/AVC) that was 29.97fps (exactly). Media Info says Frame Rate 29.970 (29970/1000) FPS.29970/1000=29.97 exactly.I created a new composition from that video in After Effects CC 2017, rendered the video with Adobe Media Encoder CC 2017, with the H264 codec as a .mp4, with "Match Frame Rate" selected, and AME rendered the video and Media Info says the Frame Rate of the rendered video is 29.970 (30000/1001) FPS.30000/1001=29.97002997002997....So again this is another problem with AME only allowing a limited amount of frame rates and not matching the source frame rate.I suppose I'd have to render it as a .mov to actually match the source frame rate?I created the composition in After Effects from the source video file, but AE only shows the frame rate as "29.97" (it doesn't say whether it's 29.97 exactly or 29.97002997002997..) - how do I tell which it is?Will AME ever be changed to be able to match the source frame rates that aren't in the list (such as e

Hello,i have a new iMac (Model Retina 5K from 2017). It has a 4,2 GHz Intel Core i7 , 64GB RAM and a Radeon Pro 580 8GB GPU.I try to render a 6:24min Greenscreen-Video. I have 4 Layers + Audio, it's a very basic Video (News setup) and I used AE-Kompositions and Keylight for the Main Video. My iMac can't render that Video in H.264 (SD 480p) and needs nearly the whole CPU (the media encoder is still working since 2 hours now). How is that possible and what can I do? Greetings,Tabea

Hi,I need to convert my short animation file .fla made in Animate CC to high quality 4k video in .mov format which needs to be playing on my clients Mac. I am using Windows10 and latest Adobe products. In Media Encoder I choose H264 and High quality 2160 4K from drop down menu. The  video then doesn't wan't to play on Mac but it can be played on my computer in QickTime. I also tried several other options but to no avail. Did I use wrong settings from drop down menu or do I maybe need some additional addons or codecs installed on my computer to make video suitable for Mac? The MP4 generated video hasn't any issues and plays normally.Thanks for any info!Matej

Whether I'm creating proxies or compressing footage to replace the original files, AME will only render up to 59.94fps, halving the framerate of my 120fps footage.I've googled this issue and some people recommend using alternative transcoding programs as a workaround, but I just want Adobe to be made aware.

I've spent hours trying to figure the problemIm converting the mp4 video (linked down) to a gif, but the gif shows glitches in some places.the glitch I was mentioning is the repeated frames that happen at the beginning of the gif and the endred arrows pointing the glitcheshere is how the gif is supposed to look like (link)slash _1.mp4 - Google Drivethe gif dimensions are 1400 width 1746 height pixeli noticed that this problem doesnt happen when i make the height 1400 (same as the width)but it generates black borders on the sides, so this is not a solution for me.please help me, I have wasted a lot of time trying to fix this.[Moved from the Forum comments forum (which is for issues relating to these forums themselves) and into a product-specific support forum - moderator]
